Thanks!
If, like me, you're having a hard time finding the JMP 18 installers now that 18 is out (yay!! good upgrade, if you haven't used it yet!), here's the link you're looking for: https://store.jmp.com/subscription/license/view/ Happy upgrading! I'm mostly a JSL wonk, and this version like all upgrades does have some hiccoughs…
SPSS has the reputation of being the easiest statistics software to use. SPSS is commonly used in universities, particularly in the social sciences and psychology. With its linked analyses and graphics, JMP is the ideal data analysis tool for understanding complex relationships, digging deeper, discovering the unexpected.
In general JMP is much better fit for a general "data mining" type application. If you want a specific statistics based toolbox, (meaning you just want to run some predetermined test, like testing for a different proportion) then JMP works, but is not the best.
JMP 16 Projects provide a single-document customizable interface to bookmark files and easily navigate various open windows like data tables and scripts. You can save JMP files and reports directly to the Project, link to external files like PDFs and PowerPoints, save, share, and back up one
JMP helps you tackle your routine and difficult statistical problems. From easily accessing your data from various sources, to using quick, reliable data preparation tools, and performing choice statistical analyses, JMP lets you get the most out of your data in any situation.
