JMP’s popular Statistics Knowledge Portal (SKP) has become one of our most valuable brand awareness and educational assets. Since launching in the summer of 2019, SKP has helped millions of visitors learn key statistical concepts through clear explanations, visuals, and videos. In the last two years alone, SKP pages have been viewed more than 3.5 million times, making them JMP’s best source of new visitor traffic and a cornerstone of our top-of-funnel marketing strategy.
Given its importance to JMP, the SKP team, led by JMP Education, has focused on expanding the SKP library. Over the last 15 months, the team has added nearly 100 new pages covering a broad range of statistical topics.
The results have been impressive. SKP is expanding JMP’s visibility across both traditional and AI-powered search while driving deeper engagement with the content.
Visibility in search results
Since its launch, SKP has consistently ranked highly for many popular statistical search terms. That success continues. Since January 1, SKP pages have appeared more than 111 million times in Google search results, including traditional search results, AI Overviews, and AI Mode.
By comparison, the rest of the jmp.com website has generated an additional 27.3 million impressions. That means roughly eight out of every 10 appearances of a www.jmp.com URL in Google search results are for SKP pages.
Queries generating the most impressions include highly competitive keywords such as t-test, standard deviation, correlation, box plot, ANOVA, and chi-square test.
Even more encouraging, impressions have increased significantly year over year. In the last four months (May 22 – Sept. 22, 2026), SKP pages appeared in 28.4 million search results (English language only), compared to 21.7 million impressions during that same timeframe in 2025, a 30% increase.
Winning AI citations
Since their debut in May of 2024, AI Overviews have become the default experience for many search queries, often providing answers directly within search results.
While the rise of AI Overviews has reduced click-through rates across many searches, it has also created new opportunities for visibility and brand exposure through AI citations.
New SKP pages have been carefully structured, designed, and optimized to appeal to LLMs and earn citations in AI Overviews. Citations strengthen JMP's authority by placing our content in front of users precisely when they are learning about statistical concepts. AI citations of SKP are up significantly in 2026.
In the most recent four months, links to jmp.com appeared 9.965 million times in Google’s AI Overviews and AI Mode, with approximately nine million of those impressions pointing to SKP pages. Similarly, the number of keywords for which SKP pages appeared in AI Overviews increased by nearly 160% year over year, as Google expanded the reach of AI Overviews and SKP gained visibility within them.
Increased engagement despite declining clicks
While AI Overviews have caused click-throughs from search engines to decline, visitors who do reach SKP are spending more time on our pages and are more frequently navigating beyond their initial landing page.
From March 1 – Sept. 22, 2026, average engagement time per visit increased 8.2% compared to the same time period in 2025. Visitors are also viewing more SKP content. During the same period, SKP page views per visit increased 7.9%.
Another positive development is that visitors are engaging with JMP more deeply, which is especially encouraging given the high percentage of first-time visitors SKP attracts. Year-to-date in 2026, the percentage of SKP visitors who went on to visit the STIPS home page – one of our primary calls to action – increased by nearly 40% (39.8%) year over year. While less than 1% of SKP visitors go on to visit the STIPS home page, that still represents about 1,500 visitors year to date.
SKP expansion continues
Though the SKP library now contains nearly 150 pages, expansion continues. The production team is planning to add more content across a wide range of statistical topics through the end of the year and beyond. This work includes completing the power and sample size content, addressing some data table manipulations like joins and splits, bringing in some content about statistical thinking from STIPS, adding more DOE topics, and continuing to add more statistical method topics, especially those that differentiate JMP from other software.
