Physical education model · Actualization of biostatistics practice using JMP according to new core curriculum
Keio University School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Sciences Professor, Pharmaceutical Regulatory Science Laboratory Professor Naomi Urushihara
Many drug students are engaged in medicine development work as a pursuit of medicine development and as a career after graduation, and nearly half of the Pharmaceutical Courses each year choose from clinical development work from our University. On the other hand, submission of research papers such as clinical research is required for certification requirements of specialized pharmacists, and clinical research is also an essential knowledge to be used daily by clinical pharmacists.
In the Pharmaceutical Model · Core Curriculum (New Cocari) released in 2005, E3 "Information useful for drug treatment" includes skills related to biostatistics and clinical research, skills to calculate various risk indicators and skills to perform various tests And classes are needed to foster the ability to actually conduct statistical analysis.
At our university, we initially conducted analysis exercises using JMP in the lecture of clinical drug evaluation as an elective subject in the sixth year in order to ease analytical allergy. From this fiscal year, statistical analysis exercises are included as essential subjects in practical training seminars corresponding to the new core curry, and it is decided to carry out in the fourth year.
Compared to other statistical applications, JMP is characterized by an interface that can understand each step of statistical analysis naturally by intuitive operation. In addition, it is unparalleled that sample data, support functions such as demonstration for classes are substantial, and we developed teaching materials that take advantage of these features. In this session, I would like to introduce the data analysis intensive exercises using JMP, including demonstration.
