19.2.1: Security Freeze 10/8/26 • 20.0: open in main; EA7 Code Freeze 10/1/26; Code Freeze 1/7/27
Welcome to the JMP Development Update for September 11, 2026!
JMP 2027 EA6 email notifications to EA members went out on Wednesday. Mia Stephens reports that EA membership is steadily increasing. With the exception of students, all authorized users are eligible for membership (upon submission of the request form at jmp.com/earlyadopter). Thank you for all the work on feature pages leading up to this EA release! A reminder that EA7 is planned to freeze on October 1.
Meanwhile, 19.2 installers are currently in the testing phase with release planned for September 22. Desktop testing continues, while JMP Live testers have now completed their 19.2 installer verification tasks and signed off. The doc team is preparing to hand off remaining localized help for 19.2 and is work with the localization team to verify final deliverables.
Thanks for all the Jira triage! Please keep it up. It’s especially important to review all Story and Epic items with a Planned version of 20 and update them appropriately. If you find a Story or Epic on your list that has 20.0 in Planned versions but it is not already listed on the 20 Late features page, you can take action by doing one of the following:
- updating the planned version to a future track where you are committed to work on it
- removing the planned version if you know the item needs to be addressed but are not sure when
- demoting it to a feature request, if it needs more evaluation and research before committing to the work
Thanks very much to Evan McCorkle for presenting at this week’s dev meeting on JMP 2027 accessibility improvements! Evan shared work done in collaboration with John Schroedl, Dan Schikore and Bryan Fricke during this feature cycle to improve JMP’s accessibility by addressing color, text contrast/size, compatibility with screen readers, friendliness to different input devices as well as alternative mechanisms like voice control. In addition to encouraging development to keep accessibility in mind like we do I18N and L10N, Evan suggested that we internal JMP users also try out keyboard-only use of JMP and use JMP’s existing light/dark/high contrast mode features. Telemetry shows that dark mode is used by a higher percentage of external customers than internal ones. If you missed the meeting, you can find a recording here.

- Dan S: Accessibility updates for tooltips shown during keyboard navigation, and screen reader announcements of actions in the launcher (add/remove columns from role, etc). Fix for styled colors of profiler axis labels in Easy DOE report tab.
DOE and Reliability
- Caleb: Submitted a late feature that allows users of the sample size explorers to lock the other group sample size when doing a target search on a group sample size in the two sample explorers. I also helped teach the first session (of two) of an inaugural short course on problem formulation and strategy development, sponsored by the International Statistical Engineering Association.
- Irene: Continue fixing bugs in the new space-filling design features for JMP 20; processing and analyzing data from the hardware verification project; and drafting a short conference paper on sequence covering array fault localization.
Hosting and Interfaces
- Will:
- Added filtering for the Data Connector Editor
- Working on updates for the SharePoint Data Connector
- Developing my lightning talk contents for Discovery Baltimore
Interactive HTML
- Mike Stickles: Continued work on JMPHTML-15788 (Support multiple response bar charts), specifically on getting the exports to work with X-axis ordering. I’ve narrowed down the problem to the column export not taking axis order into account when exporting the column’s char levels, but I haven’t found a way to fix it in the C++ code; may need to work around it in the Javascript.
- John Powell:
- Paul Spychala:
- Mostly bug fixes and logging issues (JMPHTML-15809, JMPHTML-15801)
- Working on adding support for Data Points in Surface Plot (JMPHTML-15810)
JMP Live
- Aurora:
- Process Screening performance and bug fixing
- Simplify control chart notification email when > 3 warnings present (in progress)
- Tweak to report preference sets
- Add release year to /api/buildInfo for internal customers
Statistics
- Laura C-S: Finished the changes to account for a frequency column in the MultiCorrelationFitter class and in the SEM platform. Also found and fixed a couple of bugs related to frequency and weight columns in the process. Worked on the new feature page for ordered categorical SEM with MIIV-2SLS. Participated in D&I team and C++ meetings.
- Annie: Fixed a variety of CCB and CUSUM Jira tickets including a few Control Chart Builder timing crashes and worked to finish a new blog post with Di Michelson: Your control chart might be hiding a process shift right now | JMP.
Stat Documentation
- Michael C: Continued to work on XML clean-up for the statistics documentation source files while we wait for a full help build. Held Q3 conversations with my team. Planned for stat documentation work for JMP 20 new features. Met with our intern (Kris) about the next new features for him to document in our playpen.
Stat Testing
- Jacob:
- Adding tests for Space Filling Design
- Creating two DOE usability studies for Discovery
- Verifying Jira tickets and cleaning unit tests
Product Management and Product Marketing
- Bryan Fricke:
- Accessibility: Created a Jira issue to improve the UX of scrollbars nested within reports; met with Greg Kraus of SAS to discuss accessibility questions and guidance, accessibility team coordination and feedback on presentation.
- Icon modernization: Continued icon development/refinement.
- JMP Live: Provided workflow feedback, began developing default thumbnails for file and script posts, and coordinated with Dieter on a usability study of the workflow.
- Product collaboration: Provided feedback on dynamic grouping versus Filter View.

- Bob:
- Released installers for version 20 EA 6
- Installer Validation scripts have been placed at jmp.com/qualitystatement. This download includes all benchmark files needed for the 13 releases of version 19 so far. This one download combines the files to be used for JMP, JMP Pro, and JMP Clinical. Thanks to great work by Drew Foglia for taking the scripts and adding PDF reporting for customers to use.
- More testing for version 19.2
- Melanie: Created branching tasks for 19.2.1 JMPTOOL-2420 • Implemented a Powershell script to manage cleanly reverting files and submitting changes (or not if there are no changes) for the UT Logs Gather project so that Jenkins doesn’t think the job failed when there were simply no updates. JMPTOOL-2362 • Reviewed Sample Data tables for any mentions of JMP/JMP Pro 20 (which would need to be changed to JMP/JMP Pro 2027) – there were none JMPTOOL-2389 • Other miscellaneous testing and scheduling tasks.
- Nick: Windows 11 JMP 20 DailyUT builds were successfully migrated over to the new look for installer before building method, and away from scheduled cron jobs. The Windows 11 tests have been running successfully on the new system, and I think we're about ready to migrate more of the jobs away from scheduled runs. Continuing to work on the Testem issues with the new HTML5 Mac. Performed maintenance on our CI machines and updates in AWS. Things are running smoothly on the automation side of the house.
Localization
- Krzysztof: Answering localization questions from translators working on PortableUI 20.0. Further enhancing memoQ settings for Oxygen and online workflow (templates, filters). Testing updates to Commit job for UI (new location for the “baby” xlf files) and other L10N workflow enhancements.
- Allison: Processed new Marketplace strings for translation; responded to Portable UI translation queries; trained Veronica on the localized Documentation add-in creation process; and completed the Q3 check-in form in Workday.
- Howard: Finalizing edge cases and exceptions of Dita populate, pre-process, and post-process. Finalizing multiple file type for project handling. Worked on small tasks such as query system update, review codes for migration from jmpsrv01.
- Trish: Answering queries from translation teams and coordinated with Veronica on project to retake English screenshots for UG. Vacay Tues/Wed. :smiling_face_with_smiling_eyes:
- Sandy: Finished testing move of commit job files from jmpsrv01 to jmptrans. Tested addition of *.dita files to populate job.
Documentation
- Qiana:
- Met with Tom to work on the LS book in Oxygen.
- Completed a procurement task for the Oxygen Production Engine.
- Verified image callouts work.
- Chris: Finishing building the translated help. Reviewed callout images.
System/Host Testing
- Mandy: Worked through some Jiras - some to do with changing the terminology and wording for Dynamic Tables - found a disconnection bug that developer fixed - added a few new tests around this fix to the JSL framework. Worked on changing of wording for Table Views - fixed tests - did some more testing of things that seemed to not work before. Next week - need to add some JSL tests for Grouping of rows to the framework. Verified and closed out a few tag-related Jiras and added a test case for one of those too. Next week – plan to finish work on the new Sample data tables we are trying to add for JMP 2027.
- Hunter: Nearly the entire week revolved around JMP 19.2 final installer testing activities. Getting my test systems ready, investigating and reporting problems, testing the installers that were rebuilt, and verification of authorization cases.
- Audrey: The entire team is working on 19.2 final validation testing, which will continue into next week.
- Eric Horton: 19.2 Installer testing.
Web Testing
- Hui:
- Completed validation of the assigned JMP Live 19.6 configuration, reducing deployment risk and increasing confidence in installation stability.
- Identified JMPHTML-15816, a search-parity gap between HTML5 and desktop behavior. Early detection provides traceability and resolution opportunity before broader JMP Live 20 validation, reducing potential customer-facing inconsistency.
- Current coverage is tracking to plan, with defect discovery focused on behavioral parity and internationalization risks, positioning well for upcoming JMP 20 and JMP Live 20 validation activities.
- Metrics: 1 verified, TBD blocked, TBD reopened, 1 reported, TBD regressions.
- Next: Continue JMP Live 20 I18N testing and HTML5 validation.
- Seema:
- Install tests completed for JMP Live 19.6.0 and 19.2 JMP Pro for Live
- I signed off for Josh since he is out of town
- Accepted and Closed:
- Filtering on multiple status names for same status level shows the same filter text (level)
- Should not be able to save a custom status with the same name as a default status
- Clarify and Correct Terminology for 'Categories' in Warnings Panel
- Session needs to be refreshed to see custom triage changes
- Contour Plot categorical combo box comes out static
- Send message to the report when user are using Presenter mode
- PS performance: Slow response when querying historyLog against report with thousands of warnings
- Created Jiras:
- Unexpected behavior when adding a status with the same name as an existing one that has leading/trailing spaces
- Report does not display Warnings in Warning panels even though it has Warnings
- Natalie: HTML Automation report: 19.6 – 2 expected diffs, 20.0 – ALL PASSING! I was out most of the week on vacation. Completed 19.6.0 JMP Live Installer testing.
