Smoothing grammatical item appearance frequency in junior high school English textbooks and patterning by model fitting

Unlike the discussion on the first place, grammar items in the MEXT middle school English textbook have no research material on frequency of occurrence that greatly influences the learning effect, in particular frequency of re-presentation after introduction. In this study, we counted 40 grammar items in junior high school and treated the frequency of appearance per unit as cumulative frequency to smooth random factors caused by arbitrary appearance.Next, after standardizing the learning time and maximum cumulative frequency, modeling was obtained with accuracy of residual squared 0.937 to 0.975 by applying cubic function to cumulative frequency data.As a result of performing factor analysis by considering coefficients (intercept, first order term, second order term, third order term) of the function used at this time, there are tendencies in two directions of the grammatical matter, convex distribution and concave distribution It has been found. Many projects with convex distribution are presented at the time of introduction, but there is a possibility that fixation will be worse because there are few learning opportunities thereafter. On the other hand, the concave distribution includes many basic items with high introduction timing and early introduction timing. If these are well understood at the time of introduction, the application effect will increase as learning progresses but poor comprehension can result in incomplete settlement and thus a decrease in motivation.Furthermore, it was also observed that the items with large irregularities fluctuate in the second year of junior high school.
