As summer winds down, User Enablement is shifting into high gear. Students are back, event season is ramping up, and teams across JMP are preparing for a busy fall of conferences, user groups, workshops, and Discovery Summit activities.
A highlight this month is the launch of the refreshed Getting Started with JMP course. The new version is shorter, more interactive, and designed to help new users reach success faster. This effort also extends into academia, where the team has introduced a new Getting Started with JMP for Students module and a redesigned Teaching & Learning Resources site. With more than 2,500 new student registrations per day in recent weeks, these improvements are arriving at exactly the right time.
Please continue promoting our upcoming Discovery Summit events. Discovery Summit Early User Edition is just weeks away and is an ideal introduction for new JMP users, trial users, and anyone beginning their JMP journey. Registration is also open for Discovery Summit 2026 in Baltimore, and Discovery Summit Japan is coming up soon. Looking ahead, registration for Discovery Summit Europe 2027 in Berlin opens Sept. 8. These events offer some of the best opportunities for users to build skills, connect with the JMP community, and discover what's possible with JMP.
Thank you to everyone supporting our users, creating content, organizing events, and helping customers succeed. A lot is happening this fall, and the updates below show the impact your work continues to make.
Technical Support and Customer Engagement
As noted in the Academic Updates, students are back! The Support teams are seeing more cases related to renewal eligibility, renewal, and prior version requests.
In September, we will kick off a project related to JMP Live support. Stay tuned for more details!
Education
Be sure to check out the new "Getting Started with JMP" short course. This is a complete refresh of the original "Getting Started with JMP: On Demand" course. We've shortened the video content (now under 10 minutes, compared to 45 minutes in the last version) and made the practice exercises discovery-focused. We think it's even more engaging now!

Customers who still want to use the longer version (which includes some content not covered in the new version) can still find it through Learn JMP or at this direct link.
Academic
The fall academic term has begun, and JMP Student Edition is reaching peak annual demand that continues through September. Over each of the last two days, we have seen ~2500 new MyJMP registrations from students at universities around the world. This is also the time of year when we see the results of our spring efforts to reach new users through new course adoptions.
It is also vital that we support our users in a timely manner. In early August, we launched our fully redesigned Teaching and Learning Resource page at Teaching and Learning Resources. The new site simplifies and streamlines our support to better match the academic users’ journey, from new user to advocate. Many thanks to Andretti Brown for his excellent work.

- A new feature of the T&L Resources page is Getting Started with JMP for Students, a quick interactive learning module that teaches students the basics of using JMP Student Edition. This brief module also recognizes that students are often new to statistics and avoids unnecessary jargon or concepts they haven't learned yet. Shout-out to Ryan DeWitt for all his help creating the module.
- Also on the T&L Resources page is the redesigned Instructional Data Sets page, which contains 35 real-world data sets for instructor in-class use or for homework exercises. Each includes the data, background story, data dictionary, and exercises for flexible application. These are less structured than the case studies within the case study library.
- On August 18th, the Fall 2026 Academic Newsletter was sent to faculty/researchers highlighting the new student learning module, Fall webinar series, fall conferences we will attend, and the Discovery Summit and scholar program. Shout-out to Roger Alford, Landra Cunningham, and Amy Stuart for their assistance with JMP Academic Announcements for Fall 2026
- The Fall 2026 JMP Academic webinar series kicks off on Sep. 2 with Getting Started Teaching with JMP Student Edition, followed by six more biweekly webinars focused on various teaching topics. See the full schedule here.
Market news
- Along with Russ Wolfinger, recently presented at NC State’s Bioinformatics Bonanza to share the power of JMP Student Edition and various JMP extensions with NC State's incoming cohort of bioinformatics PhD students. Thanks to Meichen Dong for arranging the session.
- Participated in the 2026 Joint Statistical Meetings, North America’s largest gathering of statisticians from both industry and academia. The exhibit generated 30 leads across academic and commercial sales. Kudos to Ashley Tannert for her expert planning efforts that made the exhibit possible.
- Delivered a Design of Experiments (DOE) workshop at BITS Pilani, Hyderabad, bringing together participants from Biotechnology, Pharmacy, Mechanical, Civil, and other engineering disciplines. Demonstrated how JMP + DOE provides a common framework to systematically identify key factors, understand interactions, and optimize processes across diverse domains.

Thanks so much for the updated Getting Started with JMP. I've just completed it myself. I love how simple it is, which must have been a huge challenge given all the capabilities in JMP. I also appreciate that we are using a relevant example that I know from experience speaks to our core users in science and engineering. Above all it's impressively brief - we all know how it feels to have to go through longer courses! Thanks again, team. This will have a huge impact.
