Resources for Quantile Regression

Hey, all!

 

Anybody have a favorite resource for quantile regression?  (Fit Model > GenReg > Distribution(Quantile))?  It's an amazing little tool, but I can't find anything on it that I could show a customer.  I remember Brady highlighting in an SE training on JMP 12 (?) but nothing after that.

 

Thoughts?

It's not much, but I did a quick bit on quantile regression in the Hidden Gems in JMP Pro sales training in Sep 2025. You can find the video on the JMP Pro sales enablement page on Confluence. Click on JMP Pro Hidden Gems in the top table of contents, which will drop you down to the part of the page that has that video and others from that Hidden Gems session.

There's no demo there, but I've attached here the data set that I used to make the graph. It's a simple example of temperature by operating time, where the effect of time is steeper in higher quantiles. Maybe it's just enough to tell a simple story to a customer.

Thanks, Ross!  I guess it's a really hidden gem... might need to correct that and get it some more publicity.  There are some great applications in the manufacturing spaces for that capability.
