The areas around major train stations in Tokyo possess diverse urban functions, including commerce, tourism, and transportation, each with its own distinct characteristics. This presentation comprehensively collects urban function data such as restaurants, cafes, apparel stores, hotels, tourist attractions, and public transportation in the areas around major train stations in Tokyo using OpenStreetMap's Points of Interest (POI) data, and then uses JMP to reveal the potential characteristics of each area. First, the location information of each station is visualized on a map using the background map function of Graph Builder. Furthermore, factors representing regional characteristics are extracted using principal component analysis, and stations with similar characteristics are classified using cluster analysis. The characteristics of each area within Tokyo that can be gleaned from these results are discussed, demonstrating the potential of using JMP in urban data analysis.
