Decrypt Scripts without password?Hello,
A JSL script writer has left one of my accounts, leaving behind a set of encrypted scripts, but unfortunately he did not provide the password to decrypt them. Is there any other way to unlock/decrypt these scripts?
Do we have an internal private procedure for this?
Thank you for your suggestions,
Florence
Re: Decrypt Scripts without password?Hello Florence,
We've recently gotten this question in Technical Support. I wonder if this is the same customer.
We do not decrypt password-protected scripts on behalf of users.
Script encryption exists to protect the contents of a script, including intellectual property, business logic, and potentially sensitive information. When a request is made to decrypt a script, we have no reliable way to verify the script's provenance, ownership, or whether the requester has authorization from the original author or other interested parties to access its contents.
For that reason, decrypting protected scripts raises both security and privacy concerns. Providing access to the contents of an encrypted script could expose proprietary code, confidential business information, or other material that the author intentionally chose to protect.
Without the password, we must treat the encrypted script as inaccessible.
