19.1.5: Security Freeze 8/6/26 • 19.2: Security Freeze 9/3/26 • 20.0: open in main; EA6 Code Freeze 8/27/26; Code Freeze 1/7/27
Welcome to the JMP Development Update for July 24, 2026!
We released JMP 19.1.4 on Tuesday – thanks to everyone who worked on this security-only release! We’ll have one more security-only release (19.1.5) in August prior to releasing JMP 19.2 in September with the latest round of bug fixes and security updates.
We have now reached our Feature Freeze and Marketing Feature Freeze milestones for JMP 2027 version 20.0. Please note: if you are still working on any Story or Epic item in Jira with a Planned Version of 20.0 that is not yet marked Test-Ready, please add it to the Late Features page for 20 here. The page has a template where you can assess impact to downstream teams. Code for 20 EA5 is also frozen. Please update your feature pages by 9 am on Monday, July 27! Once EA5 installers have been fully vetted by QA, they will be released in MyJMP and announced to EA program members.
FYI that Qiana Perry has updated the How to create new sample data page in Confluence to include information about submitting AI-generated sample data. For that case, JMP Legal requests that we document answers to several additional questions. As Qiana mentioned last week, the deadline to submit new or updated sample data for version 20 is Thursday, September 17.
Thank you to our first group of students who presented their summer work on Thursday! Dhruv Menon showed the Admin Action Portal, Daylen Hicks shared the XML Book Analyzer tools he created to detect errors and inconsistencies in the doc team’s converted XML files, and Yen-Chen Liu presented her work on motif discovery for order of addition experiments. You can find presentation materials on the 2026 JMP intern presentation schedule in Confluence along with a list of topics for the next 4 sessions to be held in the coming weeks.
Unfortunately, although I did start and stop a recording for the session, Microsoft had a major networking outage during that hour and neither the recording nor the other meeting artifacts were captured. During that timeframe, others reported problems with screenshots not showing up in Teams and general slowness with Microsoft 365 and other MS services.

Added a hidden preference to disable creating host accessibility peers in case the work causes instability. Addressed issues in the Home Window reported by Accessibility Insights tool. Icons: Took icon updates. Reworked host code which creates the hierarchy icons on-the-fly to have more sizes for better high DPI support. Fielded various Visual Studio questions. Crash investigations.
- Daniel Powell: Completed an update to the powerpoint export that will allow users to merge multiple reports/journals into a single PPTX file! I'm in progress on updates to the JMP web browser's overall accessibility which will hopefully be done soon!
- Paul:
- Worked on my Discovery presentation for Baltimore.
- Researched and submitted an abstract for Discovery Berlin

- Committed work to support Normal Contour Ellipsoids in Scatterplot 3D (JMPHTML-15664).
- Interactive HTML developers had two-days of in person team building activities with Mike Stickles in town.
- Experimented with virtual reality headset detection and VR rendering of Interactive HTML output.
- Started looking at support for Scatterplot 3D’s Nonpar Density Contours (JMPHTML-15703).
- Triaged an issue with Scatterplot 3D rendering points bigger in JMP Live than in JMP that ended up being expected behavior when choosing to use a data table in JMP Live with different selections than the table in JMP (JMPHTML-15701).
- Reported how not being able to see selections in JMP Live’s Data Table Viewer makes it difficult to discover why differences seen when publishing as in JMPHTML-15701 are expected (WEBJMP-11299).
- Helped test a planned change to Jira configuration that will require setting Fixed Versions when transitioning items between certain states.
- Mike Stickles:
- Continued work on Constellation Plot (JMPHTML-15608). Now successfully exporting vertex “row states” (which are separate from regular row states), allowing export of selection and hidden states. Trying to implement dynamic selection.
- Participated in Interactive HTML teambuilding activities Tuesday and Wednesday.
- Completed both ACT-NOW training modules.
- Arnav:
- Worked with Praveena to set up the crosshair tool on JMP Live

- In Fit Least Squares, support nested effects for saving formula column for prediction std error (JMP-31639).
- In Profiler Simulator, fix a near-neighbor-culled-random space-filling matrix, which was mistakenly transposed, pending for a late 19.2 fix (JMP-31629).
- Taylor: I have only one step left in changing the Contingency platform over to the AlignmentGrid display object. I also found a couple of bugs in Multiple Correspondence and was able to fix them the next day.
Stat Documentation
- Michael Crotty: Continuing to work on XML cleanup of the converted files for stat documentation. Preparing for JSM, including stepping into the role of section chair for SPES a few months earlier than expected due to the previous chair resigning.
Stat Testing

Life Sciences Updates
- Drew: With Dan Schikore's assistance, implemented JMPCLINICAL-5877: Move JMP Clinical Stylization into JMP Clinical Theme which lets the JMP Clinical theme inherit from and extend the JMP Live theme for the styling of JMP Clinical. Practically, all styling code has now been removed from the JSL so we can take full advantage of the JSS infrastructure. Implemented changes to JMPClinical unit testing to copy installers directly from jmpsrv01 (as opposed to using OneDrive) for better reliability and portability across users and machines. Closed out or deferred JMP Clinical feature Jiras. Working through bug Jiras.
- Jake:
- I incorporated two new state of the art GNN models into the PyTorch add-in (Cormorant and DimeNet++)
- I included a way to estimate the node and edge feature importance for the GNN models to aid in model interpretability
- I worked with Luciano to include the feature importance in the PyTorch GUI model report
- I made my slide show for next week’s intern presentation
- I got access to a JMP linux node, and I am conducting a full testing suite for all GNN models incorporated in the add-in to compare them to published results
- Created a basic tutorial for internal and external users of the PyTorch add-in
