Welcome to the JMP Development Update for June 26, 2026!
JMP 20 EA4 is now available and was announced to customers earlier in the week. I’m glad to see some feedback already coming in from early adopters! As we head towards our Development and Marketing Feature Freeze date just one short month from now (July 23), it’s important to weigh newly suggested ideas against existing feature work and remember that we will always have another release to consider new additions.
We have seen a few requests made and approved this week for our JMP 19.2 maintenance release. As we wrap up this cycle, please keep in mind that we will be in Code Approval mode for 19.2 until we reach our Code Freeze milestone on July 9. Please review the list of unresolved items with a Planned Version of 19.2 and remove any that you know are no longer in scope for this release. As usual for changes made in maintenance tracks, all proposed fixes must be reviewed by a colleague and fixed/verified in 20.0 first wherever possible.
The JMP 19.1.3 emergency bug fix/security update release is now available in My JMP, and the JMP Live 19.5 feature release is also available. Release notes are listed on the JMP Documentation page (jmp.com/documentation) per usual. You can also open the release notes PDF directly from this link. DevOps has already set up the infrastructure for our upcoming JMP 19.1.4 security release, expected to be in MyJMP next month.
Thanks very much to Shannon Leslie for sharing our June 2026 Atlassian customizations/improvements! New fields were added to Jira this month, in support of Feature Tracking for Product Management. Please see the documentation link above and ask your Product Manager if you have additional questions about these new fields.
Also, Shannon L asked me to mention that All Things Open 2026 registration is now available! Note that the conference format and pricing are slightly different this year. You can add yourself to the attendees list in our Confluence page if you do sign up. Last year we took a JMP group photo and met for lunch at a nearby place since the box lunch lines extended the entire length of the convention hallway. Unfortunately, this year ATO is the same week as Discovery Summit so if you have plans to be in Baltimore, you’ll have to catch it next time.
Finally, SAS and JMP interns are sponsoring a donation drive to help provide local students with the school supplies they need for the next school year. Once collected, these supplies will be distributed by the Boys and Girls Club of Wake and Johnston Counties. You can scan the QR code below to open the Amazon wish list in your app and can even ship essential supplies straight to the organizer. Talk about making it easy to participate!

JMP Development Updates
Statistics
- Laura C-S:
- Spent Monday-Wednesday at the Modern Modeling Methods Conference in NY. Participated in a session providing commentary on Ken Bollen’s new SEM book along with two professors. I also got a chance to showcase the MIIV-2SLS estimator in JMP Pro. The book session had a couple hundred people and –together with the program’s big JMP ad in the back cover—put JMP on the map for many people who had not heard of us. The MIIV-2SLS session in JMP also gave rise to lots of great inquiries and conversations!

- Finished writing a reaction article requested by Katie Stone and Anne Milley. This is planned for the Analytics Advantage blog. Here’s a preview of an image I plan to use for that post:

- John Sall: In Process Screening,
- improve Alarm Graph to identify all active tests (JMP-31161)
- implement Remove command for persistant charts (JMP-29320)
- support "Control Chart Builder" Test 1 preference (JMP-31233)
- fix KSigma logic (JMP-31279).
- Taylor P: Added small-sample exact tests to the Categorical platform.
Stat Testing
- Tonya: Completed the new security and ethics training we were assigned. Testing NF in process screening: rework alarm graph. Testing NF in cusum: show x chart, as well as, the cusum reorganization of code. Testing NF in Manage Limits: Load and Save Show Limits to wide table. Investigated beta feedback about distribution - Process Capability. Bug verification. Updating unit tests.
- Mark: I studied Jacob's utility functions for Easy DOE unit tests to prepare as backup support to Ayumi during his leave. I met Ayumi and Jaems to review her progress and answer questions. I addressed EA3 feedback about DOE > Augment Design for Nicole. I am reviewing the draft of claims for Bayesian Optimization IDF. I am reviewing code change for Bayesian Optimization in JMP Pro 19.2. I completed the current ACT-now training courses.
Life Sciences Updates
- Jake: Worked on validating and testing the JMP PyTorch Add-In's new GNN models in the following ways:
- Implemented edge features to augment the spatial edges I added to the graphs the prior week. These edge features allow the spatial edges to carry more information than simply "these two atoms are near one another." Some spatial edge features that worked well include graph topological distance, scalar distance between atoms, and the electrostatic potential of the atoms' partial charges.
- Finished basic testing on the ESOL dataset (~1,100 molecules).
- Moved to testing on the larger QM9 dataset (~130,000 molecules; explicit 3D coordinates).
- Found that spatial edges with added features provide distinct advantages when training the D-MPNN model on certain regression targets (~18% improvement in mean absolute error over the control for predicting dipole moment).
- Currently working on implementing a more "state-of-the-art" GNN model for molecular property prediction: the Equivariant GNN (EGNN).
