Tips & Tricks from the Meeting
Our chat was full of great discussion during the session! Here are a few helpful tips and resources that were shared:
- The Product Marketing team shared their JMP Live dashboards, which provide visibility into key goals and metrics used to support data-driven decision-making. Employees can access the dashboards through JMP Live while connected to the VPN. Additional information about how the dashboards are structured and the metrics they track can be found in the article, How Product Marketing Prioritizes Data-Driven Decisions - Product Marketing - Confluence. The jmplivesales environment is also expected to be upgraded to versions 19.5/20 in the coming months, bringing access to newer features.
- Scott shared that if you have a JSL script that retrieves your latest data, you can schedule it to run automatically in JMP Live. This helps keep your data up to date, and any reports that rely on that data will automatically refresh as well.
- For users interested in testing whether a continuous variable follows a uniform distribution, a method using the Beta distribution with fixed parameters of Alpha = 1 and Beta = 1 was discussed. The group also noted that QQ plots may be another useful option when evaluating uniformity.
- Xan shared the MFA authentication resource auth135.jmp for anyone who may need it.
- Xan also offered a helpful Graph Builder tip for plotting data on the interval from 0 to 1. If values equal exactly 1, one approach is to replace them with a value slightly below 1 (such as 0.999999999) so they appear in the final interval rather than creating a separate bin. Currently, there is no user interface option available for making this adjustment.
Thank you to everyone who contributed questions, ideas, and tips throughout the session!
