Like all great support engines, JMP Global Marketing is a well-oiled machine, doing its thing unobtrusively in the background day in and day out – year after year, even. We’ve done it for so long that we realize we may have gotten complacent with our success, missing opportunities to shine a spotlight on the work that supports sales, promotes and protects the brand, and helps customers feel connected to our very special company.
So, every month, we’ll share five marketing stories that provide insight into how our work supports the corporate mission of spreading the use and impact of JMP products in the science and engineering communities.
We hope you enjoy reading this month’s issue of 5 in 5 (five marketing updates you can read in five minutes).

New email intervention extends JMP’s value and adds users at key accounts

Global Marketing has launched a new post‑purchase email intervention that is strengthening JMP’s value at key accounts by driving higher license activation and faster user adoption. The campaign was developed after noticing that many authorized users never activated their software, leaving licenses underutilized and limiting customer value. The automated, targeted email was sent to users who hadn’t activated after 30 days. It reminded them of their eligibility, encouraged them to activate JMP, and pointed them to Learn JMP resources.
A three‑month experiment showed a clear impact on adoption: 14.4% of users who received the reminder activated JMP, compared to just 6.0% without it. The campaign also significantly accelerated activation time, with users who opened or clicked the email activating almost three times faster for JMP and more than four times faster for JMP Pro.

With these strong results, the reminder is now enabled for all accounts. We’ve also shortened the window from 30 days without activating post-authorization to 14 days. This intervention is part of a larger customer nurture campaign aimed at increasing adoption, strengthening customer relationships, and supporting Sales by ensuring full utilization and demonstrating greater JMP value at key accounts.

Expanding brand awareness through media coverage: JMP featured in the upcoming Triangle Family Magazine issue

When it comes to public relations, third-party media coverage remains the gold standard. Getting media outlets to write about JMP builds credibility, introduces us to new audiences, and drives long-term brand growth in ways paid ads or self-promoting content simply can’t match. With that in mind, Global Marketing has launched a renewed effort to secure media placements and recently scored a big win.
The July issue of Triangle Family Magazine will feature a story on Director of Advanced Analytics R&D Ryan Lekivetz (@Ryan_Lekivetz) and his daughter, Rory, whose joint presentations have become a staple at JMP events worldwide.
While JMP is highlighted throughout the article, Rory Lekivetz is the real star. Her hands‑on “science experiments” with JMP have included experiments with paper airplanes, paper frogs, and gummy bears – all with the goal of making complex data concepts approachable and fun for any age. The story also reinforces key brand values and highlights JMP’s commitment to education and community.

SEMrush AI Visibility Toolkit helps JMP expand our online visibility
As AI platforms like ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity, and Gemini become increasingly important for how buyers discover and evaluate brands, it's critical that JMP understands and actively manages our presence across these channels. Recently, JMP upgraded our SEMrush subscription to include a new tool called the AI Visibility Toolkit.

The new toolkit provides JMP insights like an AI visibility score (measuring how often our brand appears in AI-generated answers), sentiment tracking, competitive benchmarking, prompt research, prompt‑level performance monitoring, and an AI site audit to ensure our content is properly indexed. These new capabilities give us a more complete picture of how our brand is discovered and perceived across both traditional and AI-driven search.
We’ve already used it to prioritize content topics based on visibility gaps vs. competitors. This new tool provides us with much more data to optimize content for LLM citations and monitor our progress over time.

Helping customers prove and amplify value

The Customer Alliance team is evolving how JMP supports sellers and customers by expanding beyond traditional external success stories and videos. As more accounts need help demonstrating internal value – whether for alignment, adoption, retention, or expansion – the team is introducing a new internal‑first approach to documenting customer value and ROI. This expanded offering turns customer impact into decision‑maker‑ready proof points that strengthen renewal, upgrade, and expansion conversations. It also equips customer champions with polished internal materials, documents business value earlier and more intentionally, and creates a clearer path from internal wins to external advocacy opportunities.
This new approach delivers stronger support for Sales and helps customers articulate the efficiency, quality, productivity, and adoption gains they achieve with JMP. Guidance on when to use value documentation, available deliverables, and how to request support is now available on the Helping customers prove and amplify value Confluence page, highlighted on the 5 in 5 Global Marketing page.

A best-in-class analytics conference for attendees; a powerful closing event for JMP Sales

Discovery Summit continues to deliver exceptional value not only to attendees but also to JMP Sales. While participants love our world‑class plenary talks, in-depth breakouts, networking opportunities, and open access to JMP experts, these events also serve as powerful catalysts for advancing and closing deals.
Recent Discoveries have directly contributed to major wins across all regions. In Europe, a €75,000 JMP Live deal with Huber and Suhner, upgrades with Roche and Sandoz, and a late‑stage opportunity with AstraZeneca all originated at Discovery Summit. In APXJ, presentations sparked demonstrations that led to closed deals with Samsung Bioepis and Prestige Biologics. At the flagship event in Austin, nearly $20,000 in new JMP Pro sales – one to semiconductor giant Entegris and another to The Timken Company – were closed on site. Two upgrades with Medtronic, the world’s largest medical device company, were also attributed to Discovery Summit as the closing event in Salesforce.
With the next Discovery scheduled for Oct. 19–22 in Baltimore, now is the time for Sales to engage customers. Global Marketing has created a full suite of resources to help drive attendance, including a content repository, pricing and discount information, a full promotional package, and a cheat sheet for Sales.
