19.1.3: Release Planned for 6/16/26 • 19.2: Code Approval Mode begins 6/18/26 • 20.0: open in main; Feature Freeze 7/23/26 • 20 EA4 Freeze 6/11/26
Welcome to the JMP Development Update for June 5, 2026!
From the Desk of Shannon Conners:
We have passed our Code Freeze milestone for 19.1.3 emergency bug fixes. All expected bug fixes have been integrated and today is our Security Freeze for this dot-dot track so the security team is doing final reviews of third party library details. We plan to create final installer candidates this Sunday evening for testing to vet next week with installer release expected on June 16.
As I mentioned at last week’s meeting, June is going to be a very busy month for development – in addition to finishing up 19.1.3, testing and releasing those installers, JMP 20 EA4 freeze is on June 11 and our Code Approval period for 19.2 starts on June 18.
We will continue to use the regular email based approval process to request JMP fixes to 19.2 after June 18. If you need to request a JMP fix during approval mode, please follow the instructions in the Outlook calendar reminder sent to development earlier in the cycle. There is also a Confluence page with more details about approval mode here: JMP Code Approval Mode
If you have any fixes that you intend to resolve in 19.2 before Code Freeze in early July, please make sure they are marked with a Planned version of 19.2. And please make sure that an item is fixed and verified in 20.0 before integrating to 19.2. In rare cases, I know this approach may not be feasible but in the majority of situations it is, so we consider fixing and verification in main/20.0 first to be a best practice.
Thanks very much to John Sall for showing many updates to Process Screening for JMP 20 (36 major features!!). If you missed the meeting, you can find a recording here.

JMP Development Updates
Core
- Dave Barbour: Debugging an MFI multithreading bug • Found and fixed an add-in builder bug related to Mac filewatcher changes Diagnosed a different Mac 19.2 mfi and add-in builder bug triggered by a filewatcher bug
- Dan Schikore: Improved accessibility support in the Graph Customize dialog with more control labeling for screen readers. There is a new MarkerBox for selecting markers that is used in the customize dialog, in preferences, and in Pareto that handles focus and accessibility options. Working on additional accessibility fixes for TableBox.
Hosting and Interfaces
- Mike Stickles: Finished work on JMPHTML-15504 (Marker Format Pattern: tooltip does not show the format pattern), submitted and handed off for testing. Investigated JMPHTML-15548 (Marker Format Pattern: Format pattern lost after reset axis), found that the issue was a generic axis issue rather than a format pattern issue and updated the Jira. Currently looking at several candidates for new features to implement in Interactive HTML.
- John Schroedl: Updated host controls to allow portable overrides of accessible name and help text. Filed Narrator bug in feedback hub. Pushed project change which should help avoid having the JMPCSharp project always rebuilding when switching build configurations. More tuning of the recent files transition to ListView including a crash reported by Mark Bailey. Updated host tree selection style to better match WinUI. Various crash investigations and Visual Studio assistance.
Interactive HTML
- John Powell:
- Fixed an issue with unsupported graphs not rendering static when combined with graphs that are supported (JMPHTML-14742).
- Q2 Check-ins and Development Goals discussions.
- Investigated Scatterplot 3D options that were not supported in JMP 19 for potential addition in JMP 20.
- Started working on Connect Points feature:

- Arnav Murthi (intern reporting to John Powell):
- Completed the SAS Programming I certification training
- Explored the C++ codebase to get a better idea of how the crosshair tool was implemented
- Planned out a general implementation for the crosshair tool for the HTML exports
JMP Live
- Aurora Tiffany-Davis:
- Process Screening Triage: improve performance (in one area, plenty more work remains), adding more filter options for a client query, bug fixing, prep for informal usability study.
- Report Preference Sets: add server support for updating and deleting.
Statistics
- John Sall:
- In Process Screening
- Support Phase Charts in Live;
- eliminate TSAN data race (JMP-30934);
- provide Out of Spec Count and Rate columns for Distributional chart types (JMP-30191).
- Prepare 4 videos and one Dev meeting demo.
- In Categorical
- Support color specification for comparison letters (JMP-30393);
- Prohibit "Significantly great than category" when multiple response sample term (JMP-30924).
- In Partition, fix nullptr dereference (JMP-30954).
- In Make Validation Column, fix UBSAN issue and check arguments better (JMP-30960).
- In Explore Outliers, fix "Randomized SVD Dim" to be numeric property and tolerate nullptrs for RanBase arguments in several zx routines (JMP-30979)
- In the Profiler platform, fix saved script when Prediction Profiler turned off (JMP-30971).
- Laura Castro-Schilo:
- Continue working on JMP-3056: Categorical SEM (with MIIV-2SLS estimator). I pushed a large changelist that enables us to launch the platform with ordered categorical data. The platform uses the MultiCorrelationFitter to estimate a matrix of polychoric/polyserial/Pearson correlations and conducts all analyses off of that. Thus, our estimates are now valid. There’s also a new table of thresholds for the categorical variables. There’s some additional work to do, particularly adjusting the standard errors but it’s rewarding to see the progress in the UI!

- Also helped place an ad in an upcoming quantitative psychology conference program and participated in a workshop with the diversity and inclusion advisory team.
Stat Testing
- Haley Tiblin: Traveled to Cary to visit my coworkers in person. I had a great time seeing everyone and engaging in productive meetings! Finishing up final checks and bug verifications for 19.2.

Working on re-tooling the SAS/CAS integration automation tests to transfer to a new viya4 server and make future server transfers simpler.
- Mandy Chambers: Had a nice week on vacation. Came back today just to catch up on Jira’s and spent the whole day having to clean up my whole mac, remove all traces of JMP to get JMP 20 to install and get the right plist files. I think I know now why some users get very annoyed with JMP when we do change things, etc.
- Hunter Weaver: Investigated a variety of problems and crashes. Opened or updated JIRA items affecting navigation and accessibility with the hard check-in window after meeting with Evan McCorkle. Met with Bryan Fricke sharing a remote session on the Arm64 Windows 11 ThinkPad so he could view the Windows Narrator on a graph in a JMP report. Life Sciences Updates
- Drew Foglia: Finalized adding PDF generation of the results to the JMP NIST testing and installation checking tools. Closing the last of my JMP Clinical 19.2 Jiras. Confirmed a BAT script I had sent to Novo's Citrix deployment team to clean up their users' profile content, which was greatly hampering their JMP and JMP Clinical experience, was deployed and is working to significantly reduced the application launch time.
- Jake Sumner (intern reporting to Russ Wolfinger):
- This week I completed the validation of my graph generation code to go from molecular files to GNN-ready graphs. Next, I started writing and testing my own GNN code to include in the PyTorch plugin for JMP. Specifically, I tested the ChemProp-derived D-MPNN model on the standard ESOL benchmark dataset. I was able to reproduce the literature results using this model. I then wanted to create my own D-MPNN model so I could have more control over the graph structure. I finished that model today and I am comparing it to the ChemProp model. My model is based on PyTorch-Geometric, and it seems to be performing on-par with the ChemProp model. Next week, I will work more on my PyG-based model and start testing atomic + spatial edge graphs!
- Wenjun Bao: I was invited to give a presentation in EFSA (European Food Safety Authority) last week in Parma, Italy. Thanks Valerie and Marco came with me. After the talk, we were given a tour in the EFSA. We were impressed their board meetings room with a huge round table that can handle multiple languages simultaneously.

My EFSA host posted on LinkedIn about our visit.

Product Management and Product Marketing
- Kaylee Warren: I wrote an article for the product marketing team discussing how we use JMP and JMP Live to create dashboards that help us track our major initiatives. These dashboards give our team and others easy access to the data and allow us to continuously improve our initiatives based on what the data is showing us. If you want to read more, I posted the blog here. (You want to read more :smiling_face_with_smiling_eyes: ~ Melanie)
