If you’re local, you should have received an invitation to the JMP pizza party with the interns next Tuesday. Cafés will be closed since SAS’ Rest and Recharge Day is that day. JMP will celebrate our next Global Rest and Recharge Day on Friday June 19 instead.
Notes on Releases
- 19.1.2 installers were released in MyJMP on May 18. We have both release notes and a Security Bulletin to detail important updates made in this dot-dot release.
- Emergency bug fix integrations into the 19.1.3 track are ongoing. All fixes currently planned for 19.1.3 have been sponsored by PM, TS or User Enablement and are in the process of being signed off by Security and Testing managers. The approval process for emergency bug fix releases can be found here in Confluence. 19.1.3 Code Freeze is planned for May 28, and Security Freeze will follow on June 4. Thanks to all who have helped fix these issues and carefully vet their resolution in 20.0 and 19.2 first!
- Our Code Approval milestone for JMP 19.2 is about a month away - we’ll begin approval mode at the end of the day on Thursday, June 18.
- JMP 20 EA3 is out gathering feedback from our early adopters, and the EA4 freeze is coming up soon, on June 11th. Thank you for continuing to keep those JMP 20 Feature Pages up to date!

JMP Development Updates
Core
- Xan Gregg: Continued work on custom JSL Graph Builder elements. Re-enabled brackets for unequal variances after Jianfeng Ding implemented Games-Howell for that case. ScriptItem argumentors now preserve rvalue-ness, addressing a memory issue Paul Nelson diagnosed.
- John Schroedl: With the goal of fewer support issues, the 19.2 project now directly includes vcredist files. Changed the Home Window recent files list to a ListView control which uses fluent styling and has the more modern selection UX and matches recent portable list styling changes. Updated our copy of the C++ Guideline Support Libary (GSL) header files. Accessibility work: Changed JSysSecondaryHilite on Windows to improve text and icon contrast. Working with Evan on changes to honor the Windows Settings > Accessibility > Text size scale factor. Discussions with Dan on how we might improve our handling of peer structure changes.
- Evan McCorkle: Changing ListBoxBox selection styling on Windows. We are moving from an accented background to an accented indicator. This aligns with modern Windows styling and makes icons more legible. Also, modeling effectiveTextScaling(fontSize, textScale) function for Windows accessibility text scaling. This ensures that large text is scaled less aggressively than small text.
- Dan Schikore: SendToReport/Dispatch updates to reduce unnecessary TextBox dispatch. Accessibility fixes for Custom Marker dialog and collapsed Splitter layouts. Working on accessibility changes for ColSpanBox.
DOE and Reliability
- Caleb King: This week, I addressed some bugs in OC curves and continued cleaning up my sample size infrastructure changelist, working with Yeng (she's been very helpful!!). I also did some additional work on generating a summary report for the new acceptance sampling explorer, including the ability to export to PDF or RTF.
Interactive HTML
- John Powell:
- Met with Arnav Murthi and discussed potential projects he will work on this summer in the Interactive HTML team and how we will help him get settled in.
- Update the new Three.js OrbitControls camera controller to behave like a trackball (JMPHTML-15555).
- Added support for the Fixed Marker Label Color preference (JMPHTML-13462).
- Fixed a crash in Scatterplot 3D with missing categories and improved support for missing values (JMPHTML-15534).
- Completed Q2 check-in training.
- Mike Stickles:
- Submitted fix for JMPHTML-15538 (Format Pattern: HTML5 losts its format pattern when using <.>) and sent to testing.
- Completed fix for JMPHTML-15544 (Format Pattern: Label by value does not honor format pattern), need to clean it up and put it up for review.
- Investigated JMPHTML-15550 (Marker Format Pattern: Incorrect German (de_DE) month abbreviations on X‑axis tick labels), found that JMP is not consistent between Mac and Windows on how it displays German month abbreviations, and on both platforms it exports abbreviations to HTML that don’t fully match the ones displayed in JMP. Have tabled this for now.
- Began investigating JMPHTML-15545 (Format Pattern: Reference line label not honored).
- Arnav Murthi:
- Completed SAS orientation & JMP Academy
- Met with my manager and team a couple times to get onboarded onto the project
- In the process of completing general onboarding tasks (e.g. Workday setup, ethics & compliance training)
JMP Live
- Aurora Tiffany-Davis: Finished improved audit logging. Started on "User Report Preferences" feature support. Fixed some bugs. Updated some third party packages.
Statistics
- Laura Castro-Schilo: Integrated remaining SEM bug fixes and improvements to 19.2. Continue plugging in the multi-correlation fitter into SEM; initial work is done but revealed some slowness so I’m investigating how to speed up the code. Participated in a couple GRA interviews and met with Elyse to walk through some cpp examples.
Stat Testing
- Tonya Mauldin: Attended a harmonization meeting with product management. Researched some issues that came up during the harmonization meeting. Updated unit tests due to recent expected changes. Bug verification.
- Mark Bailey: I attended the second tutorial about using covering arrays in JSL unit testing. I reviewed a white paper about Phase I and II in establishing control limits for Annie. I am developing a query to extract pertinent data about unit test failures.
- Jacob Rhyne:
- Writing new tests for alias terms in DOE.
- Exploring using Github CoPilot to help create unit tests
- Cleaning unit tests, updating tests to account for random seed changes in DOE and Compare Each Cell as Suffix in Categorical
System/Host Testing
- Justin Kusch: This week I worked to validate a crash fix for the python automation suite and updated some test cases to accommodate updates in how we use pyarrow for data table conversion. In addition, I've begun manual testing for the python virtual environment feature. Finally, I've validated bug fixes and close the stories for python pixel manipulation and run_jsl updates.
- Mandy Chambers: Worked on writing JSL tests for Recode, with selecting columns together to recode; Working on Column tags and other JSL that has been added - need to add a few tests there too; tested data tables after pulling out the linked items/reports - things are back like they were in JMP 19 mostly; Also working on simulating data to use for tags/filter views in samples - will pull Mia Stephens in to assist with that and try and add 2-3 new tables for JMP 20. On Mac I took a shelved build that Michael had for 19.2 and built it with Xcode and then tested the fix - SQL file related, so he will now add this fix he had pushed to 20 already to 19.2.
- Eric Horton:
- Verified and closed JMP-29679 Allow query fields on the authorization and token urls for JMP 19.2 and 20. This allows the user to append query parameters to the end of these URLs.

- Start working to debug the testODBCTeradata test in the Dedicated Suffix Environment.
- Attended the GitHub Copilot Workshop as a part of the SAS Global Unconference 2026.
- Audrey Shull: Tasks related to onboarding interns was most of my week, but I also looked at 19.1.3 and reviewed some security items that were open for that track.
- Hunter Weaver: Spent most of the week validating authorization cases on clean and upgraded systems with JMP 19.2 and 20 for recent encryption enhancements. Other JIRA verifications
Web Testing
- Hui Di:
- Validation completed: Portable layer support and key interactions validated for JMP Live Process Screening and Control Chart Builder; histogram deselection performance confirmed stable. (JMP-30649, JMP-30634, JMPHTML-14636)
- Risks surfaced: Interactive HTML5 output drops state during Mosaic row exclusion (regression) and Process Screening publish fails with non‑numerical proportions. (JMPHTML-15558, JMP-30817)
- Upcoming focus: Log‑message correctness for HTML5 static image generation, JMP Live 19.5 translation sync, Process Screening scenario coverage, RTF export verification, and JMP Live 20 I18N kickoff.
