From Bernard:

Scenario Analysis a.k.a. (What-If Analysis) -- add "scenario analysis" to the what-if analysis section on the Prediction Profiler.

I agree with Mia that it's worth bringing attention to the added mac features, but I also can see that being tricky since we don't want to give the impression that the mac side is just "catching up."

As a general comment, I think the features pages would be punchier with less text. To be clear, I really like the descriptions, and I think  when people find the features they care about they will want to read more, and there is a lot of value to them reading more. But, with all that text the main points seem to get a little lost amidst all the descriptive text. What if, in a very JMP fashion, the full descriptions lived behind a grey triangle in each section (that are clearly marked "Click here to read more") and when clicked the section expands in place to reveal all the details (like the learning library). This way the main points of each section (in fewer than say, 20 words each) and the accompanying graphics would be the focus, and when a visitor finds a topic that really matters to them they can stop and expand the additional details.

I really like the idea of some animated gifs to quickly demonstrate the more interactive features. With any movement on a webpage I do always worry about the page looking frenetic (like a webpage in 1996 with blinking text and background midi). Perhaps those animated GIFs could live behind a click on the static image (like the magnifying glass icon on the current page). We would want to make sure visitors find those animations though, so it might be necessary to have some description like "Click to see it in action."

As for the specific list of features in 12, I've been impressed with the recoding enhancements. Presently we have a Import and Processing section which does have a recode demo, so it would be great to have a new demo showing the neat enhancements. JMP is just so good for data clean up and it's something we all have to do.

I think it's worth really playing up HTML 5 output. Right now the HTML 5 examples are at the very bottom of the "Data Visualization" section, and I think people probably miss it completely. As I look more at that section, it seems to be several different topics that might benefit from having separate headings, such as "Interactive Graphing" with highlights from graph builder, "Dynamic Linking" showing all the ways selections are global in JMP and why that matters, and "Universal Output"  (or something like that) showing HTML 5 output.

These are from Mia:

One popular feature in JMP 12 is some of the Mac changes.  Not sure how you’d phrase it, but folks I’ve talked (teaching students on both Mac and Win) with are thrilled that the gap between Win and Mac is shrinking.  A second thought is performance improvements – I know that Chris G has done a lot of work on this, and the ability to quickly analyze large data sets "more quicker and more bigger” is important – folks who have used the generalized regression platform in 11 are stoked with the performance in 12.
