19.1.2: Security Freeze 5/7/26 • 19.2: Code Approval Mode begins 6/18/26 • 20.0: open in main • 20 EA3 Freeze 4/30/26; Feature Freeze 7/23/26
Welcome to the JMP Development Update for April 17, 2026!
JMP 19.1.1 is now available in MyJMP. Thanks to all who worked on this monthly security update! Work is underway on our next security update, JMP 19.1.2. We also have about two weeks until our JMP 20 EA3 Code Freeze. Please continue to update your Feature Pages so that customers know what’s ready to test in this iteration.
Thanks very much to Xan Gregg for presenting at this week’s JMP Dev meeting! Xan shared 6 new Graph Builder (and Graph Builder adjacent) features added in JMP 20. If you missed the meeting, you can find a recording here. Glad to see so much enthusiasm for taking advantage of these new capabilities! Xan noted that there are additional EA videos available for some of these features in MyJMP. All JMP employees can access these in MyJMP under Early Adopter, Videos, data and usability studies.
Please sign up on the JMP Dev Volunteer list in Confluence if you would like to present at a dev meeting soon! Our summer interns will be joining on May 19, and their end of summer presentations will be in July and early August. With new developers joining the team, FYI that there will likely be some heavily C++-focused topics coming in future sessions. I will make sure to call out those topics in future invites since they will likely only be of interest to C++ developers.
Thanks to Shannon Leslie for sharing the February and March 2026 product changes for Atlassian products!
In February and March, Atlassian rolled out changes to our Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket Cloud sites. A list of relevant changes along with highlighted details and documentation can be found here.
The changes include:
- Easily find content inside expandable sections with Find & Replace
- Replacing "None" with clearer default field values
- Retain unsaved Description when pressing Escape
- And more!
Contact Shannon Leslie or any of the other JMP Atlassian admins with questions. Also check out our JMP Atlassian Q&A Teams channel, where this and other Atlassian information will continue to be shared.

JMP Development Updates
Product Management and Product Marketing
- Mia: Product Managers Mia Stephens, Dieter Pisot and Sarah Sylvestre joined John Sall, Jules Parris, Chris Gotwalt and others from GTET and the Global Premier team at the JMP Inspire event at P&G Wednesday. The event had over 175 registrants from several business units. We provided a keynote on new features in JMP 19, gave talks with P&G staff in the two tracks (Fundamentals, Intermediate/Advanced), participated in a Categorical platform feedback session, answered questions at the help desk and JMP Lab, and closed the day with a leadership round table and roadmap discussion.
- Kaylee: This week we held a sales enablement training session with Dan Valente and Scott Allen all around AI/LLM and how JMP continues to be valuable to our customers in an increasingly AI-first world. While this training session had a target audience of sales, it was an incredibly valuable training that would benefit anybody from watching it. Here is the recording, and for a further breakdown you can read more on the “Best practices for positioning JMP in an AI-focused world" sales sheet. For more information on what product marketing has been up to, check out our April update.
- Valerie: Sales Highlight at Daiichi Sankyo, Tokyo. During our Asia trip last November, Sarah Gilyard and I had the opportunity to visit Daiichi Sankyo in Japan. While I’m not sure if this is connected to a recent upgrade (addition of 100 JMP licences), Kyoko-san shared a sales highlight with us that I thought would be valuable to share Sales highlight: JMP expansion at Daiichi Sankyo - JMP User Community
- Bryan:
- DOE icon modernization (Fluent System alignment)
- Iteration and coordination with Ryan, Jacob, and Mark Bailey
- Delivery and iteration with John Schroedl
- P&G usability support
- Machine setup, including AWS content and scripts to reset JMP state between sessions
- Assistant install and run testing
- Usability test script updates
- Event‑specific Microsoft Forms
- Accessibility (keyboard + screen reader)
- Multiple Core/Host working meetings. Dan Schikore, Evan McCorkle, and John Schroedl are making progress on keyboard and screen‑reader accessibility, an area critical to JMP’s accessibility maturity.
- Created an Excel vs JMP keyboard access comparison document which was used for communication about coverage and gaps with David White and Evan

- Created GitHub CoPilot demo video for JMP Live devs and testers (closing with disclaimers).
Statistics
- Laura C-S: Haley Tiblin and I taught a full-day longitudinal SEM workshop at the Society for Research in Adolescence. Attendees were super engaged and excited about JMP! Only one of them had heard about JMP before. A professor said she intends to use JMP to teach her SEM class next semester. And other attendees reported telling their friends about JMP during a break. It was a great experience! I also met with Dr. Christian Geiser (SEM expert and social media influencer)—he just posted his first SEM-in-JMP video on LinkedIn of many more to come!
Stat Documentation
- Michael C: Continuing to work on creating LaTeX markup for equations in JMP statistical documentation. We are over 80% done with Phase 1 (creating the markup), which should be the more time-consuming of the two phases of this project. (Phase 2 entails putting the markup from phase 1 into the converted documentation files.) Also starting to develop some guidelines for equation notation and style.
Stat Testing
- Mark: I modernized a 12-year-old JMP script to compute the confidence interval for the coefficient of variation at the request of Laura L. that I will submit to the JMP Marketplace after she approves it. I worked on a supplement and a flow chart with Jacob for an IDF for enhancements to the simulation of responses in DOE platforms. I attended the overview of image tests and began to study how to create them for Easy DOE and Bayesian Optimization.
- Tonya: Testing the new spec limits column property and colors with respect to my platforms. Testing the new proportional distributions in Process Screening. Testing zone drawing for proportional charts in Process Screening. Bug verification.
Life Sciences Updates
- Drew: Some good progress and success running the JMP Clinical unit tests in batch overnight. Addressing some exceptional cases and will begin nightly runs at 19.2 and 20.0 this evening. This is running on a server we (JMP LifeSciences) manage which is a temporary solution until we can more tightly integrate into the JMP AWS/Jenkins infrastructure. Triaged issues at Amgen and Novo Nordisk, assisted PTCBio in their JMP Clinical evaluation, and thanks to Brian Boone, assisted Chris at the FDA with accessing SAS from JMP/JMP Clinical 19.
- Richard: Published two add-ins on Marketplace: Shift Plot and Funnel Plot. Working on a report that uses dual forest plots to summarize data over time.
