DOE Limitation number of compounds per experimentGood morning,
I would like to carry out an experimental plan with:
- 6 different acids => Mixture design with one column per acid
- Ratio Base 1 / Base 2 => Categorical data
The acids would be stoichiometrically neutralized with one or two bases, depending on the experiment. However, I don't want a mixture of all six acids in the experiments because that would make my product too complex to analyze. I would prefer a mixture with a maximum of three different acids. How can I define this in JMP Pro? Can I do this with a standard mixture design, or do I need to use lists of acids?
Thank you in advance for your help.
Design of Experiments
Re: DOE Limitation nombre composés par expériencesHi @SquaresJackal10,
In a Mixture design, it's very easy to limit the number of factors involved in the experiments: the repartition of points is influenced by the model you assume in the Model panel. Using the Custom design platform, if your assumed mixture model contains only effects up to 3rd order, you'll have only runs with up to 3 components in your Mixture design.
For the last factor ratio base 1 / base 2, I would recommend either to use a numeric continuous factor, or a discrete numeric factor if you want to test specific ratio.
See previous answer and solution from Optimizing a Mixture of maximum 3 Ingredients, with 5 ingredients to be Evaluated. for more information.
Hope this answer will help you,
