What inspired this Wish List Request?
Working through literature and company graphics, I have found a couple of visuals missing from the Bayes Opt report that may be helpful both in selling the tool and for practitioners in communicating about BayesOpt. At PM's request, I'm capturing them here.
Please describe the new or improved feature or solution you would like to see.
1. Support data points option in all profilers. Graphs like the one below are conceptually important to explaining the story of BayesOpt and how the algorithm is making decisions. But, the Profilers in the Acquisition Functions area do not support the data points option. As a benchmark - we should be able to reproduce the figures from Chris G's example at the Austin SE Summit directly in BayesOpt.

2. For higher dimensional cases, I've run into examples in the literature where practitioners have created principle components from the factors and used the first two principle components along with a desirability metric to create a contour map or surface plot. This graphic can be instructive about where in the parameter space the algorithm is looking and why. In the example below I used the first two principal components and then exported the desirability scores for each response. The two plots below are plotting a joint desirability made up of the product of each response's desirability vs the first two principal components.

What would the value be to you and/or other users if this new feature is provided?
The interest in BayesOpt in the customer base and semiconductor industry at large is significant. Anything we can do to make the capability more interpretable and easier to communicate will help our positioning in this space.
Is this an external customer request?
n/a
Is there a competitive software package that has this feature or solution that we should be aware of?
There are several SaaS softwares that have implemented these concepts to one degree or another - particularly the PCA contour map concept. It appears to be the default visualization for this concept among our competitors in this space.
Will this impact a renewal, expansion, or adoption at a customer, and does this put an account at risk if we do not address this?
The more we can focus on ease of use and ease of communication in BayesOpt, the easier it will be to position with customers.
