Ben Rost joins JMP with a great deal of experience supporting customers in our core industries and beyond. He most recently was a Customer Innovation (Sales) Manager for a small consulting company. He sold mostly services (installation, maintenance, upgrades, analysis, and improvement) relating to OSIsoft PI as well as services related to Automation and Controls and Microsoft PowerPlatform applications and analysis.
Ben's manager, Briana Codd, asked him a few questions and his answers are below.
1. Tell us a little bit about yourself:
Born and raised in Metro Detroit (Royal Oak) in Michigan. After graduating from the University of Michigan with a Mechanical Engineering degree, I’ve lived in Canton, OH, Hanover, NH, Greenville, SC, Fayetteville, AR, and finally the last seven years in Raleigh, NC. I have a 9-year-old son, Noah, and a 2-week-old daughter, Sylvia.
2. Do you have any pets?
A dog – a Doberman named Bruce.
3. Are you reading anything right now?

4. Do you prefer the beach or the mountains?
Mountains
5. How do you like to start your day?
Black coffee and a toasted everything bagel with scallion cream cheese
6. What is your favorite thing to do/place to eat in the area?
Anything sports related whether it’s watching or playing, especially for any of my hometown Detroit teams.
7. What’s one TV show you never get tired of watching?
South Park
8. What’s your ideal way to spend a weekend?
Cooking something with a glass of scotch after spending time with my son playing some sort of sport
9. Fun fact about you?
I have my own barbeque sauce that I created while recovering from shoulder surgery, Damn Yankees Southern BBQ Sauce.
10. Why are you excited about joining JMP?
I used JMP in a previous life and know the fantastic capabilities and value it can bring to any organization. I’m excited for the opportunity to provide that value to my customers and to help their journey of discovery
