19.1: QA signoff expected 3/12/26 • 20.0: open in main • 20 EA2 Freeze 3/19/26
Welcome to the JMP Development Update for February 27, 2026!
Thanks very much to Nicole Jones for sharing this work anniversary announcement, and big congrats to Paris!
Congratulations to stat tester Paris Faison on his 20th work anniversary with SAS/JMP! Paris started at SAS 20 years ago on February 28th as a technical graduate student. He later joined full-time as a Systems Engineer and then moved to the SAS EVAAS (Education Value-Added Assessment System) team as an Analytical Consultant. We were delighted when he joined JMP in 2016 as a Research Statistician Tester.
Thank you, Paris, for the valuable contributions you have made to SAS over the past two decades - including the last 10 years with JMP. Your experience as a Systems Engineer and Analytical Consultant has been invaluable in your role at JMP, where testing often requires stepping into the customers’ shoes and anticipating how they will use our software in real-world applications.
Over the past 10 years with JMP, Paris has played a key role in testing numerous JMP platforms, including Text Explorer, Multivariate Embedding, Support Vector Machines, Clustering Analyses and most recently, various aspects of the Profilers.
Paris, thank you for sharing your expertise and talents with us. We are excited to celebrate this remarkable milestone with you.
It’s hard to believe that the end of February has already arrived and March is nearly here! It’s going to be a busy month. First up will be JMP Discovery Summit in Sorrento, Italy. In addition to keynotes, user talks, round tables and roadmap sessions, the JMP Lab will feature JMP 20 exercises. We’re looking forward to good feedback on several new features!
Testing of JMP 19.1 installers continued this week. We expect QA signoff by March 12 and other signoffs will be finalized soon after that. We plan to release 19.1 on St. Patrick’s Day, March 17 – just after our next Global Rest and Recharge Day on March 16.
JMP 20 EA2 is planned to freeze on March 19. Please help PM gather info on new features that are ready for EA testing! Please follow the instructions on this How-To page if you are new to creating these pages or need a refresh on how to set one up using the template here. The deadline for creating or updating feature pages is 9 am on Monday, 03/23/2026, and you should have EA videos to Mia by COB Tuesday, 03/24/2026. Please see EA Video Guidelines or reach out to Mia Stephens with any questions. Also, Product Management will be revisiting the reporting and dashboards for the Early Adopter program. Please contact Sarah Sylvestre if you have any data or reports you’d like to see going forward.
As JMP Documentation manager Qiana Eaglin noted in an email to development recently, her team is currently migrating JMP content from FrameMaker to Oxygen (DITA XML). They expect to complete the migration by April 16. During this transition period, writers will not be able to update or revise existing JMP documentation. Until all files have been fully migrated, our work will be limited to documenting new features using other tools. If you’re interested in following the team’s progress, all migration‑related work is being tracked under this JMPDOC project epic.
Please direct any questions about the migration process to Qiana. We appreciate your understanding and patience during this important tooling transition!
If you are a member of the development team that needs to make a purchase for software or a conference sponsorship, please refer to this page in Confluence for details about the process for working with JMP Procurement (kindly drafted by Trish O’Grady). On the page, you’ll find instructions for kicking off the process by emailing Valentina Perez in the JMP Procurement group and some details about information she will need when helping with your request. Onboarding new vendors and working through the process can take several weeks to months, so please start the process as early as you can. You can work to on-board a vendor before a purchase process is started, so plan ahead in advance of a renewal or new purchase.
Also, thanks very much to Richard Zink for presenting at this week’s JMP Dev meeting! Richard presented on the new Exposure Summary platform available in JMP Clinical 19.1 and 20.0. If you missed the meeting, you can find a recording here. Later in the day was the first meeting of the JMP Employee JMP User Group (JEJUG) which featured a Getting Started with JMP presentation by Donny Kopp and Jordan Hiller, a workflow demo by JMP Comptroller Lauren Aldrich (apparently also being heavily recruited by JMP sales :smiling_face_with_smiling_eyes:) and a JMP Assistant presentation by Russ Wolfinger. You can find that recording here.
Thanks to Tonya Mauldin for sharing the Beta/crash cases for the last week with crashes selected!

Web Testing – Cary
- Josh: JMP Live 19.1 – Installer Testing & Regression Status
- We got a late start this week due to several late-breaking security vulnerabilities that required attention before testing could proceed. Despite this, the team has made solid progress and is currently 63% complete with installer testing and regression.
- We expect to reach 100% test completion by next week, assuming no additional blocking issues are introduced.
- I also streamlined the 17.2 and 18.2.3 migration paths as part of this cycle. We’ll be closely monitoring results to see whether these changes improve overall migration test stability and outcomes.

Core
- Dan S: Linked Item work - now using script-comparison to determine if a linked report is "dirty". Improved behavior of linked reports within Projects.
