19.1: Final installer candidates 2/23/26 • 20.0: open in main • 20 EA2 Freeze 3/19/26
Welcome to the JMP Development Update for February 20, 2026!
JMP 19.0.5 was released in MyJMP this week. Details of the fixes included in this monthly security update can be found on the Security Bulletins page in the JMP Trust Center. Thanks to everyone who worked on this release!
JMP 19.1 has now reached its Security Freeze milestone. A few late-breaking fixes are being considered for JMP Live prior to finalizing installers. Final installer candidates for desktop products are due to be created on 2/23/26. Release in MyJMP is planned for 3/17/26. The doc team has created release notes to detail bug fixes and minor new features and Shannon L will author a Security Bulletin to include details about security-related updates.
We are looking ahead to Code Freeze for EA2 on 3/19/26. Thanks to Melanie Drake for sending out the calendar reminder today! If you have a feature you’d like to highlight to customers for EA2, please make sure to update the feature page. If you haven’t created one yet, please do so using the Template for JMP 20 Feature Pages. The most critical information is within the Motivation and Summary section of the template. If this is your first time creating a feature page, see this How-to for more information or work with your product manager.
Thanks to Tonya Mauldin for sharing this week’s Beta/Crash report (with crashes selected)!

Product Management and Product Marketing
Dan V and Mia: The PM team met in Cary for a productive week of in-person meetings. We worked to refine team goals and metrics and met with development teams on various JMP 20 topics, projects and plans. And, of course, out-of-towners on the team enjoyed the warmer weather, and we managed to have a little fun while we were at it. Thanks to everyone who participated in the meetings. Excited for JMP 20 and beyond.

- Nick H: Working on trying to get changelist builds to post to the dashboard on the jmptoolprod machine. In addition to this I have been working on adding capabilities to our nightly unit test failure email process to handle sending out suffix run failure emails to a select list of testers. In doing this work I have also identified and fixed a current issue with suffix test run failure reporting in the dashboard that was causing incorrect summation of failures across test runs. I also met with Mandy this week to discuss a plan to potentially help her with some of her data table testing.
- Mandy: Testing new Data Table changes and the Dynamic tables (Summary) focus on a developer test build. Data table looks good today for the build for the DS_Europe Lab. Investigating a Mac crash with Dynamic tables but most of it looks good. Writing a new test for Summary/Transpose/Stack/Split. Ongoing - still working with Applying Tag Rules to data tables, importing different data, etc. Next week: need to check and see that new items are getting recorded by Workflow builder.

DOE and Reliability
- Caleb: Added a few new features and made some improvements to the acceptance sampling platform based on user feedback. We've only demoed it to one user group, but so far they love it!
Hosting and Interfaces
- Paul N:
- Decommissioning of jmpopst02.exnet.sas.com and jmposmrh8.unx.sas.com, the first is the production JMP hosted OpenStreetmap server, and the development machine for JMP 16 and earlier. It has critical security vulnerabilities that cannot be resolved without complete rebuild due to critical software that is past End Of Life. After monitoring the log files over a week and a half, the only tile requests were ones that I made or came from within SAS firewall. The rest, some 20000+ per day were bots probing for unsecured admin pages. Fortunately, our server is well locked down. The web server has been turned off, and the machine will be deactivated by SAS IT. I have backed up the database, the map data and server config files in case we ever choose to set up another OpenStreetmap server.
- Began the process of updating the EC2 Linux instance responsible for activations prior to JMP 18. AmazonLinux 2 is deprecated, the migration path is to use AmazonLinux 2023. The activation database is an Amazon RDS instance of MariaDB and does not need updating, only the Linux web server running activation scripts. I have a development EC2 instance up and will be able to remove the previous development and test EC2 instances once the new dev instance is validated. Then to create a new production EC2 instance, test and then have Daniel point the activation frontend to the updated production EC2 instance.
- Snyk just reported an update to zlib is needed for possible infinite loop. CVE-2026-27171 is ranked Low severity, so for now will be a JMP 20 fix. Have downloaded zlib and started building it. Changes to the build, it now creates a z.lib, z.dll, instead of zlib.lib, zlib.dll. I need to see how that affects our project solutions.
- Michael H: Enhancements to PI and AspenTech importers.
Interactive HTML
- Mike Stickles: Continued long-term effort to fully refactor BarSegment and split out different bar styles into subclasses (JMPHTML-489); this week was mainly working through sticky spots in refactoring the forAll() method, which had the side effect of fixing one or two bugs in Interval bars. Hoping to have code ready to review by the end of next week. Also reviewed Comms’ edits of my draft blog post on word clouds in JMP 19; that blog post is now published.
- John Powell:
- Working on upgrading Three.js (lib used for web-based 3D drawing) from r148 to r182(JMPHTML-15152). Most of the technical issues are resolved, I’m working through the Third Party Software Approval Request (JMPHTML-15299).
- Met with JMP Clinical to discuss requirements/plans for JMP 20.
- Completed our refactoring sprints and held a retrospective meeting.
- Completed two Act Now training courses.
- Started investigating the performance of heatmaps with continuous color role (JMPHTML-14832).
JMP Live
- Aurora: 19.5 - Restricting access to control chart warnings not linked to any data. 20.0 - Planning an approach to supporting triage with rolling window of data (with other Process Screening triage devs), starting to compile a set of Process Screening triage examples. Other: Sprint retrospective and planning, dealing with an IT issue.
Statistics
- Laura C-S: Wrote and published a blog post on phantom variables as used in longitudinal SEM. Answered a couple questions in the community re: categorical variables and the random intercept cross-lagged panel model (CLPM) in SEM. Fixed a crash reported by a community user. Added new functionality to the new Set Constraints model shortcut in SEM and the older CLPM shortcut too.
Stat Documentation
- Michael C: Investigated (with Devon) the possibility of using LaTeX markup for equations in the documentation going forward. Planned for the process of marking up the existing equations for use in Oxygen-based files after conversion. Preparing for Q1 conversations next week. Met with Product Management about plans for the 20.0 New Features document process.
Stat Testing
- Tonya: I've been testing new features in Process Screening: control limit column properties and histograms. Prepared for and attended a harmonization meeting about CCB, Process Screening, and Process Capability. Bug verification. Unit test cleanup.
Life Sciences Updates
- Drew: Enhancing the Tabulate to DOCX add-in for the Marketplace. Working out how to use the functionality in that add-in to support generating sections of the Clinical Study Report in JMP Clinical. Assisted FDA's clinical analyst responsible for the hundreds of JMP Clinical installations in tweaks for better deployment, adoption, and usage of the product.
Note from Shannon
Thanks to Audrey Shull for sharing this one! Hmm…this wolf kind of reminds me of Nazgul the wolfdog who recently participated in a cross-country ski race at the Olympics! Hope you all have a great weekend filled with the kind of joy that dog had crossing the finish line. As one account posted “14/10 – give that good dog a medal!”
