19.0.5: Security fixes only • 19.1: Security Freeze 2/19/26 • 20.0: open in main • 20 EA2 Freeze 3/19/26
Welcome to the JMP Development Update for February 5, 2026!
JMP QA signed off on most flavors of EA1 on Wednesday. Customers who are in the EA program can now visit MyJMP to download the installers and visit the EA webpage to learn more about features that are ready to test. FYI that JMP Student Edition for the Mac is not yet available, and we will not have an EA1 Mac installer for JMP Clinical for EA1 – this first EA iteration for Clinical will be Windows-only. Our next EA freeze is on March 19, and we are looking forward to receiving feedback from internal and external customers prior to that update!
Yesterday was our Security Freeze milestone for the JMP 19.0.5 monthly security release. Final installer candidates for all products are planned to be created on Sunday night and will be reviewed by testing teams in preparation for an expected mid-February release. Work on our JMP 19.1 maintenance release is also wrapping up in preparation for a St. Patrick’s Day release.
Thanks very much to John Schroedl for coordinating the Visual Studio 2026 update (JMP-29611) in collaboration with developers in charge of all the various build machines running nightly builds, CI, and jmprunner processes. John also provided details for updating JMP developer machines in his email communications today. If you build JMP on Windows, please see John’s emails to JMPRD and JMPDEV earlier today for full details.
Unfortunately, John did hit a bug with the JMPRD mailing list that prevented some people from receiving emails about the compiler update this morning. As a reminder, JMPRD is an auto-generated SAS-maintained distribution list. It’s supposed to be based on the JMP development organization hierarchy, but periodically we’ve had issues crop up that have resulted in unintentional changes to this list. If we make manual updates to the names on this list, they do not persist since SAS regularly resets auto-generated lists to conform to existing rules. I have entered a ServiceNow ticket to have SAS review why several stat group developers no longer appear on JMPRD. I suspect it is most likely due to the list not taking into account recent management changes within the stat dev group. Hopefully the SAS group that assists with rule updates will resolve this issue soon.
On a side note, JMPDEV is another distribution list that includes development team members. I use JMPDEV weekly to send out dev updates and also use it for periodic dev meeting invites. Unlike JMPRD, JMPDEV is not auto-generated. In addition to development, it includes product management and other friends across many JMP groups (JMPTS, SEs, Sales, etc). Please be aware that when you add new hires in development or in any other groups that want to receive these items regularly, you should reach out to me or Beth Evans to update the JMPDEV list.
Thanks very much to Richard Zink for presenting on new JMP Clinical reports for JMP 20! Richard also shared the Survival Explorer add-in currently available on the JMP Marketplace here. If you missed the meeting, you can find a recording here. Richard has also volunteered to present on the JMP Clinical Exposure Summary report at an upcoming meeting. If you’d like to sign up to present at a future dev meeting, please add your name, title and description on the JMP Dev Meeting Volunteer schedule in Confluence. If there are not rows yet for the month when you’d like to present, please feel free to add them.

JMP Development Updates
Hosting and Interfaces
- John Schroedl: Efforts to move to Visual Studio 2026. Thank you to Dave Barbour, Jim Borek, Nick Ruva, Bob Hickey and Daniel Powell for their help! Many icon updates from Bryan Fricke. Also updated some Windows-only areas like Print Preview and status bar icons. Discussion and code reviews related to linked DT items.
Interactive HTML
- John Powell:
- Fixed Fit line confidence intervals missing with power scale (JMPHTML-15256).
- Fixed missing Correlation heatmap (JMPHTML-15257).
- Fixed Heatmap with no X or Y no longer matching JMP (JMPHTML-15259).
- Output log message when detecting unsupported Pie charts with Overlay (JMPHTML-15045).
- Made Pie charts with unsupported Order by Rows or Row Runs render static (JMPHTML-14979).
- Added support for customized color of the area surrounding non-Graph Builder graphs (JMPHTML-15018).
- Added support for customized Heatmap label colors(JMPHTML-2125).
- Worked on support for ‘Label by Row’ for heatmaps(JMPHTML-1268).
JMP Live
- Aurora: 19.5 bug fixing: Data access edge cases impacting control chart warning handling, user access lost while report regeneration in queue, non-unique user name error message.
Statistics
- John Sall: In Process Screening, add a Histogram chart option with finer grain axis (JMP-29567); handle partially excluded subgroups like CCB (JMP-5253).

- Elizabeth: Continued work on power analysis for mixed models. Currently working on a JSL script to demonstrate generating exemplary data for various common designs to use with the new Mixed power process. Will be having ongoing discussions with the DOE folks on how we can streamline both that initial part of the process and visualizing final results. Participated in stat development GRA interviews (great candidates!).
- Laura C-S: Continued work on the “MultiCorrelationFitter” class; both polychoric and polyserial correlations are now finished (along with their thresholds and asymptotic covariance matrix). I’m almost done adding the Pearson product moment correlation so the asymptotic covariance matrix across all estimates is available (this will be needed for weighted least squares estimation in SEM). Submitted a presentation proposal to the Modern Modeling Methods conference.
Stat Testing
- Mark: Debriefed the focus group with Mia and the Easy DOE team to determine the direction of further improvements to simulating responses in DOE platforms. I explored the new Linked Items data table feature with Jacob to anticipate issues for DOE platforms. I worked on examples for the modified study tool to be submitted to the JMP Marketplace with Jacob. I reinstated the blocking (days) in the unit test script for the GP model fitting in Bayes Opt.
- Jacob:
- Testing Linked Items from DOE tables and table scripts, with Mark Bailey
- Working on new tests for the Fraction of Design Space plot
- Updating the JMP Study Tool
- Investigating potential performance issues
Life Sciences Updates
- Drew: Working on JMP Clinical 20.0 Jiras - features and bugs. Working on JMP Validation add-in that combines executing the JMP installation and NIST tools and generates a PDF and DOCX with the results.
Product Management and Product Marketing
- Brian F: Continued broad JMP icon modernization effort, updating a wide range of platform, modeling, and validation icons to better align with Microsoft Fluent System Icon style, including analysis platforms (e.g., Profiler, Multivariate, PCA, PLS, Discriminant), visualization platforms (e.g., Scatterplot Matrix, Parallel Plot, Surface Plot, Contour, Ternary), and modeling/ML features (e.g., Model Screening, K Nearest Neighbor, Naive Bayes, Support Vector Machines), as well as supporting workflows such as Formula Depot and Make Validation.
Technical Support and Engagement
- Wendy:
- Happy Friday! In addition to normal support activities, Tech Support has started off the year by participating in several focus groups led by PM and others. This week, we were excited to welcome Sanie Fragata to Tech Support. Sanie is a recent Computer Science graduate from VCU, and following onboarding, will be learning the support areas of JSL, REST, Python, and the various import methods.
