Please help us officially welcome Jill Amaya to JMP. Jill was hired in 2024 as a contractor. As of January 2026, she’s been converted to a full-time employee.
Before joining JMP, she spent 27 years at IBM, working as a technical writer and editor before retiring and starting a new chapter at JMP. She began her IBM career writing documentation for Retail Store Solutions software for cash registers and receipt printers, which you can still spot in some stores today. Later, she moved to the IBM developerWorks website (now known as developer.ibm.com), where she edited and published content on emerging web technologies, core platforms, and open-source projects supported and used by IBM.
When Jill is not working, she loves to travel and is on a mission to visit all 50 states. She's been to 41 states so far.
She enjoys being outdoors hiking, skiing, and sitting on a beach with a good book. Jill used to be a runner and completed two marathons, but these days she's happy to take things at a slower pace and sticks to walking.
