Discovery Summit Japan, held on Nov. 7 at the Grand Hyatt Tokyo, concluded with resounding success, marking a highly productive day for the JMP community in the region. The event saw strong participation, welcoming 215 customers alongside approximately 60 JMP staff who were on hand to engage and support.
Bringing the global stage to Tokyo
A goal for this year’s event was to integrate a more global perspective into the content, which resonated strongly with our attendees.

This effort provided the Japanese audience with direct access to global insights and strategy.
Chris Gotwalt (@chris_gotwalt1) delivered a highly anticipated presentation, focusing on upcoming JMP features that garnered significant attention and enthusiasm from the audience.
The overall presence of many product developers this year was a significant highlight, offering attendees a valuable opportunity to interact directly with the development team and provide real-time feedback.
Presentations and interactive engagement
The user presentations were robust, featuring a total of 17 oral presentations and 12 poster presentations. To further elevate the quality of the oral sessions, we successfully launched a new chairman system, with committee members presiding over the sessions to facilitate deeper discussion and knowledge sharing.
The foyer served as a vibrant hub for dynamic discussions. The "Meet the Experts" station, 12 poster sessions, and the Interactive Wall were held concurrently, ensuring continuous, high-value interaction throughout the day.
Easy DOE: A cross-generational success story

Ryan Lekivetz (@Ryan_Lekivetz) and his daughter, Rory, traveled to Japan to conduct a dedicated session on "Easy DOE." Building on the momentum from Lekivetz’s presentation last year, Katsuyuki Ikeda, a customer from Rohm, showcased a fantastic poster presentation detailing his elementary school-aged son's summer research project, which utilized Easy DOE.
This powerful outcome demonstrated that Easy DOE is genuinely accessible and impactful for users of all ages in both the US and Japan. This example underscores the tool's immense potential from an educational and foundational standpoint.
Networking
The networking party saw many attendees actively participating, confirming its value as a setting for robust information exchange and valuable connection-building within the community.

Event feedback has been positive
While we are still actively collecting responses, the initial feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. Most respondents have rated their experience as either "Very Satisfied" or "Satisfied."

We are already utilizing the insights gained to prepare for next year, striving to enrich the content further and ensure that Discovery Summit Japan 2026 remains an even more valuable and engaging experience for all participants.
Discovery Summit Japan was such a fantastic experience, and I’m so grateful for the hospitality and hard work that made it all possible. You even managed to get a picture of Rory smiling during our Easy DOE session - which is not easy!
