Clément Ginestet, Engineer in Biological Engineering & Experimental Strategy (Lallemand)
Microorganisms are complex living organisms, constantly interacting with their environment. To study them and optimize their use, biologists must consider numerous, often interdependent, factors. This approach requires extensive experimental work, mobilizing significant human and material resources.
In this context, the use of high-throughput tools coupled with advanced statistical approaches significantly accelerates the design, execution, and analysis of our tests. JMP software has become a central tool in our company for managing this process.
Through 3 concrete examples we will illustrate how these approaches have allowed us to:
- To optimize a fermentation process in the laboratory using an experimental design coupled with high-throughput tools
- To predict the behavior of microorganisms in a wine production context using statistical modeling
- To associate sensory profiles with analytical data using clustering methods
