19.0.3: approved emergency fixes till 11/27/25, security fixes till 12/4/25 • 19.1: all changes require code review – approval begins 12/11 • 20.0: open in main • 20 EA1: 1/22/26
Welcome to the JMP Development Update for November 14, 2025!
The JMP web QA team has signed off on the JMP Live 19.0.2 security update. With all required 19.0.2 signoffs now complete, and the security bulletin for this update prepared, we look forward to its release in MyJMP next week! In addition, the JMP 19.0.3 security update and emergency bug fix track is now open. A list of approved fixes can be found here.
As we head towards the start of Approval Mode for JMP 19.1 on 12/11/25, please continue to triage your items with Planned Version = 19.1. Here is a report of JMP 19.1 Bugs in Initiated and Developing status with ~200 items left. Bugs should be fixed in 20, tested, and integrated into 19.1. If a fix has already been tested in 20.0, please integrate into 19.1 as soon as possible so final verification can be done sooner rather than later.
Thanks to the JMP DevSecOps team for presenting at Thursday’s dev meeting. The team shared about JMP’s security strategy, recent process improvements, updates to security scanning, and more. Big thanks to Travis LaPolla, Shannon Leslie, and Nick Ruva from JMP Development and Keegan Walker from Digital Operations for presenting at this session! If you missed the meeting, you can find a recording here.
Thanks also to Shannon L for sharing the November 11, 2025, product changes for Atlassian products!
On November 11, Atlassian rolled out changes to our Jira and Confluence Cloud sites. A list of relevant changes along with highlighted details and documentation can be found here.
The changes include:
- Syntax highlighting for code blocks in Jira description and comments
- Fixing JQL query errors using AI generally available
Contact Shannon Leslie or any of the other JMP Atlassian admins with questions. Also check out our JMP Atlassian Q&A Teams channel, where this and other Atlassian information will continue to be shared.

JMP Development Updates
Statistics
- John Sall
- In Process Screening I removed the "Launch for Selected" submenu that launched Control Chart Builder and Process Capability. Control Chart Builder is still scriptable for compatibility but Process Screening has full featured Control Charts within it. A new command "Capability Details for Selected" embeds a Capability report - the same one that CCB uses, and the old "Process Capability" becomes an alias for this command.
- Also in Process Screening with spec limits is the new command "Save Out-of-Spec Column" that creates a formula multiple-response column showing all the columns and grouping levels for each row that has an out-of-spec condition. To make this feature avoid too many delimiters, the "Concat Items" builtin function now has a "Suppress Empty Strings" optional third argument.

- Laura C-S: Continued fixing several bugs in SEM related to the higher-order models with the new estimator (MIIV-2SLS). Responded to three inquires --from tech support and from a couple SEM users--about various SEM topics. Watched hireview videos from the testing applicants to provide feedback. Met with Haley to discuss polychoric correlation work. Reviewed patent claims paperwork.
Stat Documentation
- Michael C: Participated in interview panels for Research Statistician Tester role. Reviewed candidates for summer internships. Started learning about equations in Oxygen. Started work on updating bulleted lists in the documentation to better align with our documentation style guidelines.
Stat Testing
- Mark: Studying Hasse diagrams to prepare for a new design method. I prepared with Jacob to present our Developer Tutorial about simulation with JMP today. I updated the unit test script for the Data Entry tab in Easy DOE to use a new strength = 3 blocked covering array that spreads the test cases over 5 testing days. I reviewed allowed claims for a patent for the automated usability study tool. I started writing a new unit test script for the model fitting aspect of the Bayesian Optimization platform based on generating many cases using a covering array and comparing to historical predictions from known fits.
- Tonya: Testing new features in Process Screening. Rewriting unit tests due to drawing order and line seg description changes in MSA. Rewriting unit tests due to Process Screening changes to capability analysis. Attended a Service Cloud meeting and reviewed changes that are coming in Service Cloud. Bug verification.
- Jacob: Presented a Tutorial on Simulate Responses in DOE, with Mark Bailey. Assisted with the interview panels for the open Stat Testing positions. Revised Easy DOE unit tests. Worked on new unit tests for Fit Two-Level Screening.
Life Sciences Updates
- Drew: Finalized IQ and OQ PDF generation add-ins as per marketing request - JMP-26364. JMP Clinical 19.1 and 20.0 Jiras. Continued work on scripts for gathering metadata from folders of study in the hopes that we crowd-source gather content to help train models for aiding users in mapping raw data into CDISC structures.
Product Management and Product Marketing
- Bryan: Deployed translated versions of the JMP Lab tests for the Assistant and Dynamic Sorting for JMP Discovery Summit Korea (last week, translations were deployed in Japan). Contributed to a JMP Live string review and a design meeting for creating a configurable JMP report on JMP Live. Began a course by W3C called Introduction to Web Accessibility. Participated in meeting regarding testing of ongoing accessibility work. Obtained access to JAWS for accessibility testing purposes. Developed icons for JMP Clinical. Created JMP 20 installer splash screens for JMP, JMP EA, JMP Pro, JMP Pro EA, JMP Student Edition EA, JMP Clinical, JMP Clinical EA and JMP Pro for JMP Live.

Note from Shannon
Thinking ahead to the Thanksgiving holiday the week after next, I came across this infographic about favorite pies for this time of year! I don’t have the data, but maybe someone can turn it up and make a JMP version. :smiling_face_with_smiling_eyes:

I grew up in the state just north of PA, but I had to look this one up! No matter what holiday dessert you enjoy most, hope you have a great holiday break!
