Today, we're excited to introduce you to Yusuke Koizumi, a Pre/Post-Sales Systems Engineer in Tokyo.
On the job
Yusuke's core mission is to empower researchers and developers with the capabilities of JMP. "My role is to help scientists and engineers use JMP to enhance their research and development processes," he explained. "Through demos and seminars, I show them how they can make their work more efficient by leveraging JMP. I am continuously learning about JMP, statistics, and other relevant topics to better support their needs."
His career path was driven by an early fascination with data. "During university, I developed an interest in statistics, which led me to consider careers in actuarial science (well-known in the U.S. but still not widely recognized in Japan) and data science," Yusuke shared. He started as a data scientist in IT consulting but sought a more specialized focus, leading him to JMP. "Eventually, I wanted to work in a more specialized environment focused on analysis and statistics, which led me to pursue a career at JMP."
Though only recently joining JMP, Yusuke already finds great satisfaction in connecting with customers. "I find it enjoyable to visit manufacturing sites and hear the experiences and perspectives of those working on the ground," he said. "It has been a truly rewarding experience."
Yusuke strongly resonates with the Innovative pillar of JMP's brand. "Having worked in the AI and analytics industry, I’ve seen how quickly this field evolves—what was considered common knowledge just a few years ago is often already outdated," he explained. "I am excited to drive innovation alongside JMP."

"I am passionate about training at the gym and playing shogi (a Japanese board game similar to chess)," he said. He even has a secret aspiration: "I hope to start a shogi club with team members at SAS Japan and compete in the biannual team competition as a SAS team."
Despite being terrified of thrilling attractions, he challenged himself to go skydiving last year—just two days before leaving his previous job. "I was so scared before the jump, but once I was in the air, it was incredibly exhilarating and turned out to be an unforgettable experience." He plans to continue this streak of adventure, planning to take on the challenge of climbing Mount Fuji, Japan's highest peak, at 12,388 feet.
Yusuke's commitment to continuous learning and his enthusiasm for driving innovation make him a valuable addition to the JMP team. We're excited to watch his career—and his climb up Mount Fuji!
