I wondered if there has been any update you are aware of at JM
Hello,
With version 18, Python integration has completely changed and Python is now packaged directly.
This has opened up many possibilities for connections, whether with data or with other programming languages.
That is why the connection with R, as announced by the development team ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QqedMlnH_ck at 3 min), has changed with version 19.
So, building on the foundation of JMP 18’s Python Integration, JMP 19 refactors the R support by providing a wrapper on top of the Python RPY2 package.
R Init() automatically will attempt to install the jmpex package from JMP, which in turn will install its dependencies of rpy2, numpy, and pandas along with these package’s dependencies. The jmpex package is the interface layer between JMP JSL, Python and the rpy2 package. When working from Python scripts, jmpex through its R() class, jmpex.R.R provides a Python API similar to that exposed by JSL. Our jmpex package takes care of marshaling between JMP, Python and R data types. Users can go directly to rpy2, and do their own marshaling of data types if desired.
Search for jmpex in the Help > Scripting Index for documentation and usage.
