19.0.2: JMP Live security release only planned for 11/18/25 • 19.1: all changes require code review – approval begins 12/11 • 20.0: open in main • 20 EA1: 1/22/26
Welcome to the JMP Development Update for November 7, 2025!
We have now reached Security Freeze for the 19.0.2 track. There were no required third-party library fixes for JMP/JMP Pro/JMP Clinical, so we will not release our desktop products for 19.0.2. However, JMP Live 19.0.2 installers will be created, tested, and are planned to be released on 11/18/25. Preparations are underway for the upcoming 19.0.3 branch event. A small number of critical bug fixes have already been approved for the 19.0.3 release, which will also include security updates.
If you think a bug you have fixed in 20.0/19.1 may be severe enough to warrant inclusion in 19.0.3 next month, please consider the severity and impact of the problem. Is it a regression, numerical issue or common crash? Is it customer reported and is it affecting a renewal or holding up a customer deployment of 19? As a reminder, there is a stricter approval process for XX.X.3 releases than for a regular maintenance release because of the very short timeframe. If you plan to proceed with a 19.0.3 approval request, the first step is to secure a champion for your fix – Wendy Murphrey, Jeff Perkinson, or Dan Valente. After you do that, please follow steps on this page to request integration to 19.0.3.
Today was the deadline for submitting sample data requests for JMP 19.1. Please create any future sample data requests for new tables or changes to existing tables with a planned version of 20.0. Guidelines for sample data requests can be found here.
Congratulations to Russ and Liz Wolfinger on the arrival of granddaughter Daphne Claire Wiederhold, 7 lb 4 oz. Russ reports that Jordan and the baby are happy and healthy. What wonderful news

JMP Development Updates
JMP Marketplace
- Kristen: The JMP Marketplace team has circled back to looking at add-ins on the File Exchange owned by staff that we want moved to the JMP Marketplace before we close the add-in File Exchange at the end of the year. If there’s an add-in that you own or one that you think should be moved over, please let us know so we can get it added in our intake queue. To get it added, just shoot me an email. A big thank you to everyone who has sent me these so far.
Statistics
- John Sall: Various Process Screening features and fixes, including:
- Add "Show All Charts" option in both launcher and interactive menu, in the launch dialog, it is now the default if one process (JMP-28588).
- Turn on AutoRecalc to be the default; a benchmark to add a row and update the analysis 100 times took only a second (JMP-28632)
- Add Beta distribution for processes valued between 0 and 1 (JMP-28650)
- Show Control Limits in summary table if they are constant (JMP-28656)
- Started a New Feature page to capture updates
- Elizabeth: Working on tolerance intervals for mixed still. It seems like it might be working for categorical-only random effects, but I’m not sure about random coefficient models, yet. The reference paper only has derivations for the categorical case, so while I have results for the random coefficient case, I’m not sure, yet, that they’re fully correct.
- Jianfeng: Working on fully retiring the old legacy multivariate control chart (MCC) and changing the name of model driven multivariate control chart (MDMCC) to MCC (JMP-28593). The work is completed and summarized as follows.
- The old MCC is no longer accessible via a script.
- Running the old script from a legacy MCC brings up a MDMCC report.
- MDMCC is shortened to MCC
- Laura C-S: Finished working on a shelf with the computations for the asymptotic covariance matrix of multiple thresholds and polychoric correlations. Fixed a few bugs in SEM. Attended quarterly D&I Action Team meeting. Met with Narayanan (ex-P&G, prof. at U of Cincinnati) to discuss an SEM example with JMP that he plans to publish.
Stat Documentation
- Karen: Updated some headings and a figure in a file that was mysteriously leaving out a figure and repeating sections when converted to HTML resulting in manual fixes needed for each help build. The file now generates clean help automatically.
Stat Testing
- Mark: Finished the tutorial about simulation in JMP with Jacob. It will be presented a week from today. I attended the quarterly D&I Action Team meeting. I am updating the unit test script for the Data Entry tab in Easy DOE to use a new blocked covering array.
- Jacob: Preparing a tutorial on Simulate Responses in DOE, with Mark Bailey. Writing new unit tests, based on the examples in the Classical DOE course from Learn JMP.
- Haley: Preparing for and coordinating 4 panel interviews for Research Statistician Tester candidates, which will be happening next week.
- Tonya: Testing new process screening features.
Life Sciences
- Drew: Created a reference implementation, using the JMP Clinical API and a simple Windows batch file for automatically updating reports in a JMP Live instance. This is in support of a new JMP Clinical and JMP Live customer, Convatec. Working through more scripts for gathering metadata about the study data we have in support of building models to eventually assist customers in mapping their data to CDISC standards.
Product Management and Product Marketing
- Dan V: Presented global rollout of 2026 pricing updates to the sales teams this week. This training was done through product marketing’s Global Sales Enablement training series.
- Kaylee: This week, through our sales enablement training series, Nick Vacca shared a fantastic example of how he and his team positioned the value of the data connectors framework via the JMP Marketplace in order to enable customers to have a more aligned, cohesive enterprise data strategy. Please take a minute to watch Nick’s video here. In this presentation, Nick share that “data access is the great unlock” and how extensions, like the Albert Invent data connector, are ideal ways for sales teams to reach higher in the organization, to align JMP to the organizational needs, and to expose JMP's value more broadly through mass customization. Nick extended a big thank you to Mark Zwald, Stan Koprowski, Dan Valente, Kristen Slappey, Falco Kronmüller, Brian Corcoran, Will Morgan, Evan Carr, and Paul Nelson.
- Bryan F: Developed translations of the Assistant and Dynamic Sorting JMP Lab usability tests for the JMP Discovery Summit in Tokyo. I also created a VM that hosted JMP in Japanese and included a localized welcome page that was branded for the Japan version of the conference. I've created a similar configuration for Discovery Summit Korea; however, I need to allow for the user to input Korean characters next. Created graphics for the JMP Live installer (WEBJMP-11417). The week prior I developed and sent out the results for the JMP Lab hosted in Austin. I intend to have meetings to discuss next steps with developers soon.
Technical Support and Engagement
- Wendy:
- As customers adopt JMP 19, the highest volume topics of support requests since the release are data table, import, and JSL. Below are the usual graphs for case volume as well as topics for both Tech Support and Engagement. Here are the TS JMP Live reports and the link to the Jira filter showing the tickets reported by Support for the last 14 days.
- Also, here’s a comment from a recent case survey: “It's a great software and a great system around it.”
