What is JMP Public?
Think of JMP Public as a playground for external audiences – a space where anyone can view and interact with fun and interesting content published from JMP, like analyses of Formula 1 data during the 2025 JMP Summer Challenge or coral reef research.
The primary purpose of JMP Public is to promote JMP Live by providing engaging, real-world examples of JMP's interactive functionality and HTML5 capabilities.
“The original intent of JMP Public was to provide a place for customers to both explore JMP Live reports and test the publishing workflow for when their own organization adopts JMP Live,” Product Management Director Dan Valente (@Daniel_Valente) said. “Encourage customers to play around with JMP Public, publish interesting and engaging visualizations, and help build a vibrant community of JMP visualizations and analyses.”
Ways to use JMP Public
Not sure how JMP Public fits into your day-to-day role? Think of it as your opportunity to elevate and energize your work! Here are a few ways to harness its power and make a real impact:
- Discovery presenters can use JMP Public to support Discovery presentations and blogs! By sharing your data and visualizations there, you're not just showing images – you're offering a fully interactive version of your JMP graphs, which is a massive upgrade from PowerPoint. Give your audience the power to explore!
- Influencers and marketers, this is your chance to excite the world! Use JMP Public to give a compelling glimpse of JMP’s interactive visualizations and analyses through dynamic data stories.
- Customer engagement teams can empower JMP customers and partners! Encourage them to use JMP Public as a sandbox to test the JMP Live report functionality, experience the seamless HTML5 interactivity, and evaluate performance. It's the perfect pre-sales showcase.
- Authors and researchers can make findings instantly more accessible and vibrant! Utilize JMP Public to share research for peer-reviewed publications, adding a dynamic, interactive layer that brings data to life for a wider audience.

Show your work at Discovery Summit
The upcoming Discovery Summit is the ideal stage to make JMP Public work for you. Consider uploading your analyses to JMP Public and including the link in your presentation materials. This allows attendees to interact with your data and graphs firsthand, experience the power and elegance of JMP Live's report functionality, and witness the value of JMP's dynamic visualizations.
“With three live Discovery events and one online event coming this fall, it is a really great time to refresh our understanding of the value of JMP Public,” CEO Jon Weisz (@Jon_Weisz) said. “We should encourage Discovery presenters to enrich their presentation by publishing content to JMP Public and incorporating dynamic JMP content into their talks. We should also encourage users that JMP Public can be a way to share great data stories with a broader audience and increase social media influence outside of the Discovery event itself. Customers and prospects can also use JMP Public to evaluate JMP Live."

Look for the coming phased refresh
JMP Public is undergoing a phased refresh to improve its focus and utility. Currently, a cleanup is underway. “We are deleting reports that haven't been viewed since before 2024 to keep the platform fresh and relevant,” Principal Product Manager Dieter Pisot (@dieter_pisot) said. “No one should be affected by this cleanup, but we want you to be aware. We still want it to be a creative playground to try out and create!”
Future phases will focus on functionality and visibility, and the overall look and feel of JMP Public. Stay tuned to Inside JMP for updates.
Questions?
If you have any questions about JMP Public or the cleanup efforts, please don't hesitate to reach out to Dieter Pisot.
@dieter_pisot That is great to hear, I agree with @martindemel Easily accessible dashboards without login is essential to be able to showcase the power of JMP to prospects.
Just recently, it seems on requires a MyJMP account to access JMP public. Is that on purpose and why? Just for the refresh?
I think using it to promote via blogs, LI articles, Influencers is a great thing to attract new potential users and new logos, however, we would limit them (and us) if their audience needs to create a MyJMP account first to access the information they have been looking for. At least I would stop when reading sth and click on a link to watch a report and then beeing asked to register - I would close the page without any doubt.
Hi Martin,
yes we recently switched authentication from the SAS profile to MyJMP. This was planned for a while and is a necessary step limit the use of SAS resources.
We are currently reviewing the space and folder structure on JMP Public and will make additional changes to allow anonymous access to some areas, which mean a user won't need to be signed in to view a report in that area. For others areas though and to be able to publish users will need MyJMP profile.
Thanks Dieter, good to hear. As Q4 is the busiest time, and we all would love to use jmp public in our demos for interacting live with our customers, would it be possible to create such an anonymous space for all the SEs we could publish to and our JMP Inspire participants could interact with such published reports in that space? That way not every SE would need to ask for a permission/anonymous viewing request?
Hi Martin, because the All Users space became too crowded we have added anonymous access to the SE Demos space for now. We might change that though once we move to our new space hierarchy. But we will not lose any reports, we most likely will move them to more suitable spaces and folders.
Hi @dieter_pisot,
I looked for the anonymous access to the SE Demos space but I'm unable to find it. Where can I find it ?
Thanks.
Hi @Elodie_Delclaux, as part of the cleanup the SE demos space was renamed to Staff Demos. Sorry, we should have communicated that in time
Hi @dieter_pisot,
Is this the folder you were talking about?

If yes, the content is indeed public, but unfortunately, it seems we don’t have the rights to publish in it (this space does not appear in the list of available spaces when trying to publish from JMP). What is the correct procedure?
I’d be very interested in publishing, for myself and the other SEs) the following activities so that our leads and users can access them without authentication.
