As we wrap up a busy and exciting quarter, we’re thrilled to highlight two major milestones for JMP and the User Enablement team. First, the launch of JMP 19 has been met with enthusiasm across our user base, with over 50 Wish List items implemented directly from user feedback. From new statistical capabilities to enhanced visualization tools, JMP 19 continues to deliver on our commitment to making data analysis more accessible, powerful, and intuitive.
Second, the Discovery Summit 2025 Early User Edition was a resounding success. With more than 1,500 registrants and nearly half attending sessions, we saw strong engagement—especially from new users, 41% of whom have been using JMP for less than a year. Di Michelson’s “Getting Started with JMP” sessions alone drew 458 attendees, underscoring the growing interest in JMP and the value of our onboarding resources.
These achievements reflect the hard work and collaboration across our User Enablement departments—from Technical Support’s rapid response to Student Edition issues, to the Academic Team’s expansion of learning resources, to the global outreach efforts through JET and our regional events. Read on for more highlights from each team.
Technical Support
Technical Support acted quickly to identify and offer a workaround to JMP Student Edition 19 users on the Mac. JMP Note Unable to authorize JMP 19 Student Edition on MacOS was written and provided instructions for all users who attempted to authorize JMP 19 Student Edition to resolve this issue and install JMP Student Edition 18.2.2. We look forward to releasing the fix in JMP Student Edition 19.0.1, which is expected 14Oct2025.
Case of the Month: 00235574 - Soon after JMP 19 was released, a user from a company with a domain authorization for JMP Pro reported that they were having difficulty authorizing JMP 19, although JMP 18 was working fine. Knowing that the user’s Software Authorization should work for both versions and not seeing anything unexpected in Salesforce, Jeff P. and I thought additional investigation by development was needed. Bobby Riggs reminded us that the error message had been updated for JMP 19 to include the product name and pointed out that this user’s message indicated there was no authorization found for JMP rather than JMP Pro. Sure enough, the user had launched the wrong product. Big THANKS to Bobby for being on top of the latest in authorization updates, and a shoutout to Daniel Powell and Hunter Weaver for the implementation!

Customer Engagement
The JMPChina@jmp.com email has been officially migrated to Salesforce, and JET is the primary point of contact for all inquiries. With the JMP China email migrated, the main AP emails are now under JET.
Since launching the other three AP emails at the end of August, we’ve had 75 cases come through to JET. Japan's email is the largest volume with 48.

Academic
Together with Chris Gotwalt and Phil Kay, Volker Kraft joined the 30th annual conference of the European Network for Business and Industrial Statistics (ENBIS) in Piraeus, Greece, attended by 180 attendees from industry and academia. The post-conference hands-on QbD workshop by Volker (with help from Chris) was well received. Phil presented a plenary talk after receiving his well-deserved 2025 Greenfield Challenge award (for sharing success stories in statistics with non-statisticians, e.g., by #DOEbyPhilKay on LinkedIn). Chris presented two talks, one about new features in v19 and one about Bayesian Optimization desirability functions, which set the stage for interesting discussions about (teaching) DOE and Bayes Opt.
JMP Student Edition is expanding further into the MBA program at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School. Already used by over 2000 students each year in the college, the instructor of Applied Machine Learning in Business, who typically teaches with R, realized after the semester started that his current cohort of students did not have the background or desire to learn to code; they "just want to be able to use” machine learning methods once they graduate. After a demo of JMP Student Edition’s machine learning tools, the instructor has decided to switch to JMP mid-semester.
The Academic Team has developed 18 new One Page Guides (corresponding videos in development) for our Learning Library. New pages have been created for statistical methods and platforms, including ‘Generalized Linear Mixed Model’, ‘Generalized Regression’, and ‘Two-Sample Equivalence Test for Means’. The majority of the new guides are focused on data visualization and exploratory analyses. In addition to improving upon some existing guides for v19, new pages have been created for ‘Mosaic Plot’, ‘Treemap’, ‘Area Graph’, ‘Heat Map’, Scatterplot Matrix’, ‘3D Scatterplot’, ‘Parallel Plot’, and others. Video development and posting are expected to be finished and available by the end of October.
Community Updates
The Learning Library content can now be found in the JMP User Community! Special thanks to Gail Massari for her time and effort in making the content available where it will be automatically translated to JMP’s supported languages, available for Community searches/mentions, and another way users can find our learning resources.
