19.0: installer validation • 19.0.1: security fixes only until 10/2 • 19.1: all changes require code review – approval begins 12/11 • 20.0: open in main • 20 EA1: 1/22/26
Welcome to the JMP Development Update for September 26, 2025! Please note that there will be no update next week since we will be off for our Global Rest and Recharge day on Friday, October 3!
Testing for the Mac JMP Student Edition 19.0.1 permission fix has been ongoing this week. Thanks very much to Jim Borek for working with Michael Hecht on a fix and to Hunter Weaver and Audrey Shull for working through various configurations to ensure that this fix will be ready to go! PLSR reviews for 19.0.1 have been ongoing this week and security freeze for the track is on October 2.
We are about a month away from JMP 19.1 Feature freeze, planned for October 23. Please remember that any feature work undertaken in the 19.1 track needs to be represented on the JMP 19.1 Features page.
Also, all feature and bug related source code changes must be reviewed before being pushed to the 19.1 track. Please include the name of your reviewer in your changelist description. It is a JMP best practice to push source code changes to main first, allow them to be verified by testing, and then integrate them into the 19.1 track for final testing rather than pushing to both tracks at once.
Thanks to Tonya Mauldin for sharing the combined EA reports for all of JMP 19 data found here. Here is a treemap of Subtopic, but many more graphs can be found in JMP Live.

JMP Development Updates
Core
- Xan: Better marker packing with skewed sizes; footer now included in exported Graph Builder graphs; geodesic scales are stickier; new Line Order option that avoids wrap-around connections: Row Ascending (easier spaghetti plots).

- Evan: Added Copy Table and Share Table for Tabulate, CrosstabBox, and AlignmentGridBox. All three should now paste relatively well into Office, Teams, Jira, etc though there is still some refinement to do. Working on some minor accessibility/automation improvements.
- Dan S: Fixed a broadcast issues for Presets, and a few auto-broadcast issues on button/checkbox actions in some platforms. More refactoring of platform launchers for more uniform behaviors when a scripted launch is not complete. Fixed a SendToReport/Dispatch issue that regressed in JMP 19. Updating several platforms that support multiple Y to store SendToReport/Dispatch separately on each object.
Hosting and Interfaces
- Paul N:
- Fixing JMP-28115 - recent repository updates for rpy2, had broken the R Integration if you didn’t already have it installed on Windows. Needed to update the allowed rpy2 package to >= 3.6 which caused a need to fix some python code in jmpex package, as rpy2 3.6 deprecated some of the calls used to convert between numpy and R, and pandas and R. Fixes have been pushed to 19.1 and 20.0. I will look to push to 19.0.1 once testing gives the all clear. This affects the entire R Integration in 19, but so far only 1 JMP 19.0 customer has contacted tech support.
- Security support – Researched enough proof that Snyk updated their database. Four Python issues that have been reported since Python 3.13.3, have been false positives since 3.13.4. Got tired of triaging them so I pulled together enough info to convince Snyk they were indeed false positives.
Interactive HTML
- John Powell:
- Fixed an issue with Cell Plot colors in Two Way Hierarchical Clustering when Standardized By Rows is used (JMPHTML-2205).
- Detect new Order By Rows/Row Runs feature and render static in Heatmaps that don’t support it yet(JMPHTML-14978).
- Make unsupported Hierarchical Clustering with By Groups render static(JMPHTML-14973).
- Integrated fixes into JMP 19.1.
- Attended to failing HTML Template build system.
- Published the Scatterplot 3D examples I used in my video for JMP Discovery to JMP Public (JMP 19 Scatterplot 3D Examples | JMP Public).
- Q3 Check-in conversations.
- Mike Stickles:
- Merged fix for JMPHTML-14483 (GB: Line: Stacked chart yields different result w/Ordering=Summarized) into 19.1
- Merged fix for bug JMPHTML-14974 (Unsupported legend types MarkerSizeCat, CellSize and Arrow don't get specific log messages) into 19.1
- Completed fix for JMPHTML-14919 (GB: Line: Chart w/Ordering=Within Row not persisted correctly, should render static for now), pushed into main branch.
- Identified JMPHTML-14920 (GB: Line: Connected arrows chart w/legend OFF gives Unsupported legend style message) as having been fixed by JMPHTML-14919 and JMPHTML-14974, referred for testing.
- Began work on JMPHTML-14900 (GB: Bar: Range bar style display not persisted correctly).
JMP Live
- Aurora: 19.5 - Update some third-party packages. Add pub-sub for change to post ownership. 20.0 - File some Jiras for triage in process screening. Other - GitKraken renewal, data exploration for a Discovery talk idea, investigating regen failures that seem to only happen on my machine (thanks to Aaron Andersen for his help).
Statistics
- Jianfeng: Triaging old JIRAs and working on the fix for JMP-15033 to make color themes consistent across the multivariate platform. Thanks to Dan Schikore for his help, so that I can make changing Partial Correlation Diagram easy with newly selected dimensions. Partial Correlation Diagram is also improved by adding the color theme legend.

- Laura C-S: Continue preparing for the SEM Technically Speaking presentation on real-world industry applications. I’ve researched a lot of studies in a variety of fields, looked for data to download, replicated analyses, made slides, and recorded videos with JMP for the demos in the prez.
Stat Documentation
- Michael C: Participated in interviews for new statistical development manager positions. Continued work with Jill and doc teams to update JMP Documentation Style Guide. Worked with Susan to alleviate effects of a broken FrameScript in the post-production tasks. Meetings to discuss various ongoing projects.

Note from Shannon
Russ Wolfinger passed along this interesting conversational use of the JMP Assistant by an internal tester – apparently it has a sense of humor (although its spelling may need some work)! :smiling_face_with_smiling_eyes: Hope you all have a great weekend!
