What inspired this Wish List Request?
Sorting selected columns e.g. "by Name"/alpha-numerically/... works fine, however this is disabled as soon you have the selected columns within a column group. Sorting accross column groups is not useful, but within a selected column group should be allowed.
Please describe the new or improved feature or solution you would like to see.
Selecting a column group and sort by the options available the columns within this columns group should be possible, as it has no effect on other column groups or general ordering.
What would the value be to you and/or other users if this new feature is provided?
If you have lots of column groups in your data table and want to sort you can do it manually or sort first, then create the column groups. This is cumbersome. Added value is two fold - first it is what users expect (why can I select columns and sort them but not within a column group?), second is is a time saver and allows for better workflows.
Is this an external customer request?
I stumbled across this, but also got several requests by users. One of them is Steven Müller from Biotronik in Switzerland. Happy to connect if required. (Asked them to add an external wishlist entry, not done yet as far I know)
Is there a competitive software package that has this feature or solution that we should be aware of?
Don't know, but this would be expected behaviour from my point of view.
Will this impact a renewal, expansion, or adoption at a customer, and does this put an account at risk if we do not address this?
Not that I'm aware of.
Thank you for submitting this request!
