GCA/SCA analysis in JMPI got the follow question from on of my customers. If anyone has any input on this I would greatly appreciate the feedback.
One of my major questions is how
to do a GCA/SCA analysis using JMP. The model for this analysis is:
Y = Genotype + Error, where
Genotype = 0.5*(Female effect) +
0.5*(Male effect) + (Specific combining effect).
The type of experiment requiring
this analysis can be a diallel experiment, in which the same inbred can be used
as both Male and Female.
Re: GCA/SCA analysis in JMPHi Pete,
Acronyms: GCA (general combining ability) and SCA (specific combining ability)
There is nothing in JMP or JMP Genomics that can do this analysis. It can be done in SAS however. So...if someone had JMP Genomics or JMP and access to SAS, they could do it and use the JMP side of things to create the visuals. Maybe someone can make an add-in to do the analysis in SAS.
Here are some references that were provided to me by Luciano Silva in the Life Sciences Development group:

Hope that helps.
