Data science and project management are generally perceived as separate fields of study. However, in this study, data science is defined as encompassing three areas: science, such as mathematical statistics; technology, such as information processing and information communications; and management for implementing various tasks and projects. Therefore, a project-based perspective is crucial for teaching and practicing data science, and research focuses on management that organically links the two. This study begins with the construction of a coin-shooting machine and a paper helicopter. Projects are then undertaken to shoot coins or fly the paper helicopter, measuring the shooting distance or flight time, and analyzing the data using JMP. Data is collected through experiments tailored to the educational level using JMP's experimental design. We believe that teaching data science through these projects is highly effective for efficiently and comprehensively educating students from beginners to advanced users. This presentation will introduce the details of this approach and discuss its effectiveness.
