The recent JMP Americas Sales Midyear meeting in San Diego was a success, bringing together colleagues from across the organization for a few days of collaboration, connection, and fun. The positive energy was palpable, and it’s clear that the time spent together was incredibly valuable for everyone who attended.
We surveyed attendees to gauge impressions of the event, and a common theme in the feedback was how much employees appreciated the in-person experience. One employee shared, “The value of in-person gatherings like this cannot be overstated. It's a chance to collaborate and connect in ways you can't replicate virtually.” Another echoed the sentiment: “As a remote employee, I really appreciate the opportunity to get to know my colleagues and the managers a little better every time we meet in person.”

To kickoff the event, sales leaders laid out the JMP sales process end to end, with a focus on areas for optimization. Then the teams dove into workshopping with their cross-functional Discovery Pods ("Disco Pods") to spark innovation and put the new insights into practice. It wouldn't be a sales meeting without a friendly competition, so the pods competed for bead necklaces which were awarded by sales leaders for demonstrating sharp insights and creativity. One Disco Pod emerged as the winner - "Bonnie's Lucky 13" took home the bragging rights - but the collaboration didn't stop in San Diego. Attendees were excited about the new tools they learned, with one team member saying, "The team got together after we returned home to outline ideas and create templates to continue this process."
The opportunity to connect with colleagues and learn from their experiences was a highlight for many. “The time spent together working with colleagues is immeasurable. Building relationships and trading stories is so helpful personally and professionally,” one person commented.
“This event helped us raise the bar on selling fundamentals. JMP people are wired to help our customers authentically—and this was an awesome chance to swim in the culture that fuels that,” said Randy Moll, Vice President of Sales for the Americas.
Unforgettable experiences
Beyond the sessions, the social events provided fantastic opportunities for everyone to unwind and connect. The evening venues were a big hit, with the dinner cruise receiving a 10/10 from one enthusiastic employee. “The boat was fantastic and so very fun to see the city from the water!”
The planning and execution of the meeting received a lot of praise, with several employees extending a “big thank you to the organizing staff!” for their hard work. A special shoutout to Janice LeBeau and Ashley Tannert for their careful consideration of every detail to ensure the event's success.
Thanks to all who participated in our Midyear event. We look forward to building on the meeting's momentum and continuing to foster a strong, collaborative community that brings together our expertise to drive results and innovate together.
