The JMP Store, already successfully established in Japan, has achieved a significant enhancement to its purchasing experience: the official launch of local bank transfer options in Japanese yen (JPY).
Since 2024, Japanese customers have only been able to make payments via credit card but can now complete their purchases via local bank transfer in Japanese yen (JPY). “This isn't just about adding a payment method,” Sales Senior Director Noriki Inoue (@noriki_inoue) said. “It's about removing long-standing barriers and opening new doors for our valued clients and our business.”
This launch marks a pivotal moment, especially for our many manufacturing industry clients in Japan.
“Being able to pay in JPY is very important to us,” Inoue said. “Many of our JMP Japan clients are in the manufacturing industry. Making payments in currencies other than the Japanese yen has posed a challenge as it requires them to submit complicated notifications to the government. With the ability to pay directly in JPY, we're solving a major problem and streamlining the purchasing process.”
Expanding beyond Japan leads to a global win
While the bank transfer option was initially developed for the unique needs of the Japanese market, its successful automation during the development process led to an even bigger win! “JMP leadership recognized the potential, and as a result, the JMP Store now also offers bank transfer payments in USD, EUR, and GBP,” IT Software Development Senior Manager Falco Kronmüller (@Falco) explained. “This global expansion of the bank transfer option means more flexibility and convenience for customers around the world.”

How it works
