Hi Valerie,
I was curious about this myself, so I emailed the developer and tester on the Distribution platform. Tonya sent the following response:
No, we don’t allow users to change the interquartile range. No, we shouldn’t allow users to change this. The interquartile range has a very specific definition. Please visit the Wikipedia pagehttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Interquartile_range.
Hope that helps,
Susan

Subject: Change Interquartile Range
Hi all,
I’m pretty sure, there was already an answer to my question but I can’t find it anymore. A customer asked if it is possible to change the default settings of the interquartile ranges in JMP.
Thanks in advance,
Best regards,
Valerie
