Global SE Team Collaboration Activity 2025Hi SEs,
I'm pleased to announce our Global SE Team Collaboration Activity for 2025.
The aims are:
-
SEs connect with colleagues from other countries and regions by collaborating on a short, meaningful project.
-
Creation of online resources for educating JMP users of the value and how-to of important new features.
-
SEs become more practiced at producing the type of video content that JMP needs.
-
Reinforce great demoing and a culture of feedback for continuous improvement.
What are we asking for? Your team will create one short YouTube video about a feature in the new product release.
You can find more detailed instructions here: Global SE Team Collaboration Activity 2025 - System Engineers - Confluence
And your team and topic are in the attached data table. @DonMcCormack did some clever work to balance teams across regions and experience levels. So let him know any problems.
For any other questions you can ask your assigned Global Technical Enablement Team helper.
Have a great weekend everyone,
Phil
Re: Global SE Team Collaboration Activity 2025Just a quick follow up/reminder for you all:
-
Now is the time for your team to get started with this activity. It is a busy time with holidays, mid year meetings, QBRs, and all the regular responsibilities of being a JMP SE. That may mean be that you will contribute more later in the project. However, your team will need to deliver a rough first version of your video by August 28.
-
-
You can reach out to the Global Technical Enablement Team (GTET) for any help you need. Each team has 1 or 2 people from GTET that can help to connect the team, clarify any questions about the instructions, and guide you to resources on the new capability.
Re: Global SE Team Collaboration Activity 2025Hi @Phil_Kay,
Is it possible to get associated data sets for these features?
Thanks,
Ben
Re: Global SE Team Collaboration Activity 2025Hi @Ben_BarrIngh,
Ask your GTET helper.
For this version there was an effort to ensure that illustrative examples were added to the sample data folder for each new feature. And in a timely fashion.
Re: Global SE Team Collaboration Activity 2025Hi SEs,
I hope you've been having fun working with your teams, learning about the new capabilities and creating some nice video content.
Attendees of the Amsterdam EMEA SE Summit next Friday (29 August) will get a first peak at the outcomes of your work.
ACTIONS REQUIRED BY COB Thursday 28 August
- Please add your videos to this shared folder: 2025 SE Team Exercise Videos. It will save a lot of time if you can use the same naming convention: "Team 1 Environmental Monitoring - Motivation video"
- Create a page for your team in the "Team pages" folder in Confluence to share your answer to the 5 questions below. We will use these as discussion points for the SE Summit. Again, it will save a lot of time if you can just copy the naming convention and page format from Team 1.

How did you ensure the content was SIRB (Simple, Impactful, Relevant, Brief) showing last thing first?
What worked well in the process?
What would you improve if doing it again?
What makes a good demo of this feature?
What are the potential pitfalls things to avoid while demoing live?
Re: Global SE Team Collaboration Activity 2025Hi @Phil_Kay and all SEs. These videos are superb. Bravo!
One comment. By saying 'new' and/or 'in jmp 19', they might appear out of date at some point even if they are not. @Jeff_Perkinson reminds me for my work (Mastering, Blogs, etc.) that we are not selling versions of JMP and should not get caught up on versions becaue often are customers either don't know what version they have or don't care.
Perhaps posting version or date alongside the video might help. Based on a request from Salespeople, however, for new Mastering and Developer Tutorial videos this year, I post at the top of the page where text/video live, something like 'Video using JMP 18 was posted in August 2025.
Re: Global SE Team Collaboration Activity 2025Thanks, @gail_massari. An important question and one that came up in our discussions after we viewed the videos in Amsterdam. We are going to provide some clear guidance on this and other questions for the teams before they create their second versions. I expect that we will ask for no mention of JMP19 or the new version in the videos, and we will put the final approved versions into a "New in JMP" playlist in YouTube.
Re: Global SE Team Collaboration Activity 2025@Phil_Kay I am trying to use the work Enhancements in the Mastering and Developer Tutorials, even new in jmp 19 is called 'Using the Latest Enhancements to JMP and JMP Pro'. The Product Marketing Team has been a bit inconsistent about whether to promote capabilities as new in the 19 release, perhaps @LandraRobertson can provide some wording guidance from a Communications standpoint.
