As we embrace the warmth of summer, it's the perfect opportunity for our academic team to reach out to researchers and engage them through our exciting summer series of webcasts. This season not only brings a chance to connect but also to share valuable insights and knowledge with our community.
Meanwhile, our Engagement Team is diligently working to consolidate public-facing email addresses, ensuring they serve as the "front door" for our business. This initiative will enhance our ability to respond effectively to inbound channels and provide seamless support.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to our Tech Support team for their unwavering efforts in keeping all of our users up and running. Your dedication is truly appreciated, and it plays a vital role in our success. Let's make this summer a season of growth and collaboration!
Technical Support
- For June, Authorization continues to be the highest volume case topic. Questions are most frequently related to users who are unable to authorize during the grace period. This is working as designed but is expected to be less restrictive in JMP 19.

Customer Engagement
- Received agreement from AP colleagues to migrate jmpasia@jmp.com, jmpjapan@jmp.com, and sales.korea@jmp.com into Salesforce and have JET be the front door for these emails. Over the next month, we will be working on the migration to SF. jmpchina@jmp.com will be in the next phase.
- The top areas for JET are My JMP, Contracts/licensing, and sales inquiry.

Academic
- During the summer break, the academic webinar series shifts focus to researcher-related topics (during the spring and fall, we focus on teaching-related topics). Our last session, Regression with Non-normal Response Data, attracted more than 100 attendees. Our next research-oriented webinar is Handling Non-independence with Mixed Models on July 9. More info at jmp.com/webinar.
- Kevin Potcner has been focused on statistics in semiconductor education with recent sessions at the University of Illinois and upcoming sessions at Stanford and Syracuse on Statistical Methods for Semiconductor Research and Manufacturing. Ross Metusalem gave a plenary talk at the Decision Science Institute’s Pedagogy conference, where he presented Teaching Statistics through the case method. The session utilized 3 academic case studies and promoted the JMP case studies library at jmp.com/cases.

- July 2-4. Eurovariety conference (Chemistry Education), Krakow, Poland.
- July 6-8 ESCAPE: European Symposium on Computer-Aided Process Engineering, Ghent, Belgium
- July 17-19 USCOTS: US Conference on Teaching Statistics, Ames, Iowa
Community
Mastering JMP has broached new topics this year – all problem-centered. They are designed for users, not prospects, and hopefully will help grow current accounts. A small group of SEs have driven the topics. We are trying to ‘reuse and expand’ demos they may have already given to specific accounts or to small groups in their territories. Suggestions about topics that can help Salespeople extend use at current sites are welcome! Contact Gail Massari.
