Bill Fisher joins JMP as a Research Statistician Developer

After a year-long internship with JMP's DOE and Reliability team, William (Bill) Fisher joined JMP full-time as a research statistician developer after receiving his Ph.D. in Mathematical Sciences from Clemson University. During his Ph.D., Bill worked on problems related to experimental design for preference elicitation. In addition, during his internship with JMP, he had the opportunity to work on an add-in for contextual discrete choice experimentation, publish his research at the ACM's User Modeling, Adaptation and Personalization conference, and attend and give a presentation at JMP Discovery Summit Europe 2025, which was his first time visiting Europe.
In his free time, Bill enjoys traveling to new places, going to art museums, reading novels, watching films, playing card/board games, and learning Mandarin Chinese. He also recently became interested in learning the piano!
