In machining, it is important to optimize three-dimensional shape and surface properties. When optimizing these multiple characteristics, management viewpoints such as planning, designing, manufacturing, sales, etc. are important as well as technological viewpoints such as quality, cost, and productivity. From a managerial point of view, it is important to form consensus with stakeholders including the inside of the company, elucidating the processing mechanism and constructing and visualizing the processing model are issues. In the visualization of processing mechanisms, JMP utilizes analysis software to seamlessly perform experiments from planning to analysis, but JMP has its functions and further optimization functions are enhanced.Setting appropriate constraints and searching for optimum conditions while trying to form consensus with stakeholders is an effort that takes into consideration the managerial viewpoint.
In this poster session, we will focus on the machining process of making fine holes with a diameter of 1 mm in glass, which is a highly brittle material. We prepared a response phase plan with JMP, analyzed the data obtained by the experiment with nonlinear regression, described the shape and properties with a statistical model, then obtained the optimal solution by mathematical programming. At this time, we will propose a methodology to achieve optimization while establishing consensus with stakeholders by incorporating management viewpoint.
