Help shape the future of Learn JMP! Take the Learn JMP survey
The Learn JMP home page within the JMP User Community is about to undergo a redesign, and we need your help to make it the best it can be!
"We want the Learn JMP area to be the one location for users to go to get the resources they need to get the most value from JMP that they can," Marketing Manager Ryan Gilmore said, emphasizing the vision for this crucial resource. "Everyone has an opinion when it comes to finding content and how a website could be laid out. This is an opportunity to provide input into making this area successful."
To ensure this redesign truly serves JMP users, the Digital Experience team has designed an experiment to gather valuable insights on potential user interface (UI) options. This process was designed with assistance from Senior Analytics Software Tester Mark Bailey (@Mark_Bailey), and it's based on the innovative feedback solicitation methods employed by our own DOE development team, who utilize Choice Design in JMP for similar purposes.
JMP employee perspectives are incredibly valuable. You understand the nuances of the product and the needs of our users. By participating in this survey, you have a direct opportunity to influence the direction of the Learn JMP redesign, ensuring it's as effective and user-friendly as possible.

Re: Help shape the future of Learn JMP! Take the Learn JMP surveyNice application of MaxDiff design
Re: Help shape the future of Learn JMP! Take the Learn JMP surveyNice!
Not too long ago, we got some questions about "A/B testing" and there's some discussions around how we might explicitly handle that in JMP (in an add-in or similar) for a particular mfg. application, which we're already handling through TS and Product Mgmt. As a survey respondent I couldn't help but draw parallels to that (in this very different application) -- it will be good to see it end to end!
Hope as many folks as possible can make the time to participate inside of JMP.
Re: Help shape the future of Learn JMP! Take the Learn JMP surveyForgive this rant, but it's a pet peeve. Please do not use "data modeling" to describe what JMP does. We don't "model" the data! IT models data (star schemas are logical data models). It's an insult to many statisticians when we insinuate that they "model" the data, like throwing in dummy variables willy nilly.
Re: Help shape the future of Learn JMP! Take the Learn JMP surveyCan you provide more context @anne_milley . Statisticians like myself consider data modeling a large part of what we do.
Re: Help shape the future of Learn JMP! Take the Learn JMP surveyYes, @RyanParker. If you google "data modeling" you get the IT context for data modeling, not the statistical context. Language is a dynamic thing though and the use of "data modeling" instead of something meant to be about statistical modeling has perpetuated. When "data mining" was popular decades ago, it also was unpopular with statisticians (like data dredging), but that changed. Because currently "data modeling" largely means something else to the rest of the world, we should be unambiguous about what modeling capabilities JMP provides.
Re: Help shape the future of Learn JMP! Take the Learn JMP surveyNew idea after I already took the survey. Would it be possible to give JMP Learners who visit the Learn JMP site a tool/option that lets them select from our vast menu of learning resources to build a self-learning plan with the titles and links (kind of like how we do this internally with the JMP Starter to our make New in JMP Demos)? So they could select desired modules from STIPS, Learning Course, Hand's on Activity, Webinar Presentations, Learning Library link within the JMP Workflow Areas of interest to create a self -learning plan. Even if we just had an internal way of doing this it would save a lot of time as we often custom create self-learning plans for our users as post follow-up after a demo/inspire event.
Re: Help shape the future of Learn JMP! Take the Learn JMP surveyGreat idea Scott, the ability to guide users to a self-curated and lean learning path would be a wonderful outcome.
