Wacky Wednesday, Week One: Most (or least) Athletic
Back in March, Diana Levey (@Diana_Levey) emailed Allison Hines (@AllisonHines), Henry Moore (@HenryMooreThird), and me (@SarahCromer), tasking us with the challenge of coming up with a team-building activity for the JMP reunion. Her first suggestion involved having each team develop a full-length feature film where you wrote a script, filmed, and edited your footage together into a final masterpiece by the end of the three hours.
My response: “Respectfully, absolutely not… people will hate us.”
Instead, we landed on the idea of a video scavenger hunt. As we’ve all learned at this point, Allison and I are a dangerous combo when we’re left to our own devices. We thought, “Wouldn’t it be hilarious if we got people to do our jobs for us by filming themselves, disguising it as a teambuilding exercise?”
You saw it (hopefully) as an opportunity to meet some new JMPers and have some fun. We saw it as an opportunity to gather footage that can now be used in JMP videos for years to come (sorry if you feel misled).
“You’re going to get random results,” John Sall (@John_Sall) said. In the end, he was right. We did indeed get some randomness. And that was ok. We considered the scavenger hunt successful if we accomplished these three things:
- People had fun.
- People made new connections.
- People made videos that we can use to promote JMP.
Check. Check. Check!
We will be announcing the team winners at the end of this month. To build the anticipation and acknowledge all the hard work you put into this activity, we’ll be leading up to the winner’s announcement with a few “Wacky Wednesdays” where we show you just how silly your colleagues can be.
First up, this week’s Wacky Wednesday is brought to you by some real feats of athleticism that we witnessed during this scavenger hunt. Here’s to all of you who demonstrated your sports skills (or lack thereof) for the sake of our entertainment. Enjoy!
Such awesome feats and editing
Makes me smile! Great memories!
These are AH-MAZ-ING! Thanks to all who allowed their silliness to be captured on camera to make our day brighter.
I love these--the one with Byron, Hadley and Drew made me laugh out loud!!:)
How creative!! Geez - these are so fun!
Love the effort from @SarahGilyard trying to catch that frisbee
