Welcome to the JMP Development Update for May 30, 2025!
We are now in JMP 19 Code Review Mode, and JMP 19 EA9 is planned to freeze next Friday, 6/5/25. We will have EA installers for JMP, JMP Pro, JMP Clinical and JMP Live for EA9. Thanks to everyone for continuing to triage, fix and verify bugs in the JMP 19 track! JMP Code Approval Mode starts on 6/13/25 and JMP Clinical Code Approval Mode starts on 6/27/25. During Code Approval, we aim to fix the most important bugs required to ship 19.0. Once 19.0 freezes, the JMP 19.1 and 20 tracks will open for other bug fixes.
As we continue towards JMP 19.0 Code Freeze on 7/3/25, please triage your bug items with Planned Version = 19.0 and make updates to items that are no longer planned for 19.0. You should assign most bug items with Planned Version = 20.0 but may also want to add 19.1 to the Planned Version field if an item seems important enough to consider for integration into our first maintenance release track. Of course, bug fixes should be tested in the 20.0 track prior to evaluation for integration into 19.1. All bug fixes made in maintenance releases (19.1, 19.2) must undergo code review prior to integration. Any minor features being considered for integration into 19.1 need to be added to the JMP 19.1 Features page. For both features and bugs, make sure to mark Release Notes Affected = Yes for items that should be mentioned in maintenance release notes.
For Story items, please update the Planned Version to 20.0, if you know the item is definitely in scope for our next feature release. If you know it is going to be worked on at some point but are not sure when, you can remove the Planned Version value and leave that field blank until a specific future release is chosen. Finally, if you have a Story on your list that needs more research or evaluation by product management prior, you can demote it to a Feature Request by using the “Move” option under the Jira … menu. Make sure to add a comment and @ mention the product manager who works in that area to bring that item to their attention.
In the JMP 19 cycle, we will begin releasing monthly “dot-dot” security updates. Because of the short timeframe for finalizing these monthly updates, we will not be able to accommodate non-security bug fixes in most of these releases. The only “dot-dot” releases where non-security critical bug fixes may be considered for integration will be 19.0.3, 19.1.3, and 19.2.3. Standards for inclusion will be stricter than in the 18 cycle and the Approval process will also be different. We will use a Jira-based process to request integrations - please see this draft page for more details about monthly releases and the X.X.3 approval process.
Thanks very much to Tonya Mauldin for sharing this week’s Beta/crash cases with crashes selected!

That work also appears to have resolved related and/or duplicate issues JMPHTML-13454 and JMPHTML-13681 (Ellipse fill patterns) as well as JMPHTML-14173 (line label color); those JIRA issues are linked from the originals. Also determined that bugs JMPHTML-2299 (Legend text does not use white in dark theme on stand along HTML5) and JMPHTML-2368 (CCB: Line connected through excluded data point) had apparently been fixed as a byproduct of other work, and submitted those to testing for verification.
