Today, we're delighted to introduce you to Christopher Sanger, an Events Project Manager in EMEA.
On the job...
Christopher is the go-to person for customer events within the EMEA region. "I work with the EMEA Sales teams focusing on customer events, particularly JMP Inspire, Users Groups, and Hands-on Workshops," he explained. "I also look after all the Paper and Poster submissions for the Europe Discovery Summit. A typical day is spent communicating with the EMEA teams, most notably the sales and marketing teams, and of course, my awesome colleagues Maria Astals (@maria_astals), my boss Kathy Walker (@kathy_walker), and Kirsten Crannell (@KirstenCrannell) and Robin Moran in the US User Enablement team."
His path to event management in the analytics world is an interesting one. "I used to work on global events for a well-known diamond company, so not analytics at all, but many of the same principles apply around organizing and planning," Christopher said. "After COVID left me without a job, I discovered the role at JMP whilst in a temporary position looking after the grounds at the SAS Marlow office. I saw a job posting and took a chance, and the rest is history! At university, I studied Business Management and Coach & Athlete Development, and try to apply many principles I learned into my day-to-day."
Among his favorite projects at JMP are the in-person user gatherings. "I enjoy the in-person events, so I’d say that the Users Groups and Discovery Summits are my favorites," he said. "We work with very smart, often introverted people, so it is often very rewarding to see them coming together to not only showcase their talents but also see how they relax throughout the day and feel comfortable expressing themselves amongst their peers."
What Christopher values most about working at JMP is the strong sense of community. "Cliché alert!!” he joked. “Honestly, it’s the people I work with. I have worked at several places, but I have never had such welcoming, helpful, and friendly colleagues as I have had here. We work as a proper team, help each other out, and it is all done in a calm and genuinely caring manner."

LOTS of questions."
When it comes to the JMP Brand Pillars, Christopher strongly identifies with being Helpful and Approachable. "As a team of two in EMEA, we try our best to help with any requests, and we pride ourselves on being approachable to all of our colleagues and customers globally," he explained.
On the side...
Outside of work, Christopher's passions are rooted in sports and entertainment. "My biggest passion is Football, and I follow my home city team, Southampton FC," he said. "I also coach my son's Under 7’s team and the School Dad’s team. I have an unhealthy obsession with Tony Soprano, films of all kinds, and I love to travel."
A fun fact that might surprise many is his brief stint on television. "I was on a TV show on Channel 4 in the early 90s," Christopher revealed. "I had a squeaky voice and a crazy haircut, which means it’ll never be publicly viewed again!!"
Christopher loves spending time with his wife and twins (son Felix and daughter Ottilie).Christopher loves spending time with his wife and twins (son Felix and daughter Ottilie). After a long day, Christopher enjoys quality time with his family. "I love to spend time with my wife and twins, Ottilie and Felix," he said. "We have also just acquired two kittens, so if anyone has TWO of something they need looking after, just let me know."
Christopher's dedication to creating successful EMEA customer events and his helpful, approachable nature make him an asset to the JMP team. We're grateful to have him!
