Au Japon, la fin avril et le début mai marquent une période de vacances particulière appelée la Semaine d'Or, l'une des périodes de vacances les plus longues et les plus attendues du pays. Cette semaine est composée de plusieurs jours fériés nationaux qui se succèdent rapidement, notamment :
- Journée Showa (29 avril), en l'honneur de l'anniversaire de l'empereur Showa.
- Journée commémorative de la Constitution (3 mai).
- Journée de la verdure (4 mai) célébrant la nature et l'environnement.
- Journée des enfants (5 mai), une journée pour souhaiter la santé et le bonheur des enfants.
Au Japon, de nombreux Japonais profitent de cette occasion pour voyager, rendre visite à leur famille, se détendre chez eux ou explorer leurs loisirs et la nature. Avec plusieurs jours de congés consécutifs, c'est le moment idéal pour une pause bien méritée.
