In Japan, the end of April to early May marks a special holiday period known as Golden Week—one of the country’s longest and most anticipated holiday seasons. This week consists of several national holidays in close succession, including:
- Showa Day (April 29), honoring the birthday of Emperor Showa.
- Constitution Memorial Day (May 3).
- Greenery Day (May 4) celebrating nature and the environment.
- Children’s Day (May 5), a day to wish for the health and happiness of children.
Many people in Japan take this opportunity to travel, visit family, relax at home, or explore hobbies and nature. With several days off in a row, it's a perfect time for a well-deserved break.
