What inspired this Wish List Request?
Topic came up in a discussion with a customer who is thinking of adopting JMP Live specifically for the upcoming triage functionality.
Please describe the new or improved feature or solution you would like to see.
Customer would like to be able to set up one or more custom fields for data entry. This would be in addition to the already existing Notes field. As an example, many customers who use this will want to assign a tracking number (such as a CAPA reference number, for example) to each out of control point, so they can look up more specifically what actions were taken.
What would the value be to you and/or other users if this new feature is provided?
Value would be at least two-fold:
- Being able to tie specific points on control charts to specific activities in a quality system. Having this be a separate (and required field) is much better than hoping people remember to put this into the notes field.
- Make compliance and audits easier. When systems are designed to interact well with a company's quality system, compliance is much easier to maintain. The importance of compliance can be extreme, involving life/death situations sometimes, and can also make or break a company's future.

Is there a competitive software package that has this feature or solution that we should be aware of?
Not that I'm aware of.
Will this impact a renewal, expansion, or adoption at a customer, and does this put an account at risk if we do not address this?
Yes. If the customer adopts JMP Live but we never deliver this feature, they will likely abandon in favor of something that does offer the feature once it becomes available.
